The Kessler Theater is a small intimate venue. A bar area upon entry is the only place to purchase drinks at the venue. Rest rooms on either side of the entry points on the lower floor, and a staircase by the bar to reach the upper seating areas. Free water is provided closer to the 2nd entrance. If you want... More

Recently had the pleasure of seeing Kris Allen at this wonderful theater. The theater is part of thriving renaissance in N. Oak Cliff near Bishop Arts District. The area has tons of great restaurants and some shops and I was very surprised by how much good parking there was near the theater, including free parallel parking across the street. This... More

Last night was my first time at the Kessler Theater to attend Jake Shimabukuro concert. Loved everything about the place, small, cozy, wonderful sound, good seats, nice visual effects, easy parking, and the people working there were so friendly and welcoming.

Attended a Roaring 20s music review and was really impressed with the quality of sound in this old renovated theater. The setting is very cool and the people were really friendly. From the time we walked into the front door, we were greeted and made welcome. The folks behind the bar were very friendly and the atmosphere is laid-back and... More

The Kessler is an excellent venue. Caught a show here and enjoyed the intimate setting. No bad seat in the house. Would definitely go again!

Went on 1/23/16 to see Joe Ely. I was surprised that this place is very small and intimate. We had "general admission seating" and arrived shortly after the place opened so we had our choice of seats. The seats were great (not a bad one in the place), but I would opt for the reserved seats if I had a... More

I was very excited to see the 2 performers that were playing at the Kessler. The ticket prices were reasonable. I was able to find a good parking space on the street near the theater. The lobby and bar were very cool. They had reasonable prices on a large variety of beers and it looked like they were well stocked... More

Really great theatre. Neat bar at the entrance and no bad seat in the house. Usually have some great performers that play here.

I've been to the Kessler many times to see artists ranging from St Vincent to Jake Shimabukuro, and never been disappointed. Some of the friendliest staff in town, good drinks and (surprisingly) food, great acoustics, and it's close by (for me). Definitely a shining star in the OC.

First of all, the performer we saw was excellent. This review is in no way a reflection of the show or the theater's ability to book acts, but of the staff and the overall venue. The staff was okay, but not overly friendly. We were not particularly impressed, but not particularly unimpressed either. The ushers were a bit stand-offish. The... More
