The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles, are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians, both of significance to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit.

This is definitely not an ordinary aquarium, but more of a virtual rainforest in the middle of the city. After visiting Chimelong, Singapore, Churaumi, Osaka, Dubai Aquarium, this was like taking a breath of fresh air. Not a very large space, but great planning of...More

This particular aquarium has some unique animals on display. For instance, there's a large anteater and a jaguar. The facility is well-maintained and the bathrooms were noticeably clean. I enjoyed my visit. I think others will too.

I was meeting a friend I had not seen in years in Dallas while her husband attended a conference. We were both from out of town and just wanted somewhere to stroll and talk and catch up. Since it was raining we needed an indoor...More

The ground coverage of the aquarium buildings can lead people to think that there may not be a lot to see there. However with some very ingenious use of the space and multi-level design the aquarium is home to a surprisingly large number of aquatic...More

My husband and I visited the aquarium, not really knowing what to expect. We were really impressed by all that there was to see inside and felt the trip was well worth the cost to enter. Having been to the Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto, ON...More

The aquarium is more than fish tanks. There are as many birds, I think, as fish. There are two underwater tunnels with fish swimming around them. The kids I saw seemed to be enjoying it. A good indoor activity during inclement weather, especially.

We visit zoos and aquariums every vacation! This was a great combination of both. The aquarium was magnificent and the zoo parts were very authentic. Def recommend if your ever in Dallas. This is in our top 10 for sure.

I believe you can but suggest you avoid crowded weekend visits. Narrow walkways and strollers could be uncomfortable.
