Great weekend shows for the family, children's classes that are drop in or can last for the locals. Great people, brand new interior, gorgeous old building. Inspiring !!!! Five Stars !

While walking around town we came across the Bastrop Opera House, dating from about 1889. We also saw the playbill for the show "Nun-sense" and went to see it. It was very funny. We understand that the opera house also doubles as a church of some Christian denomination on Sunday mornings.

This was a unique tour of an opera house. This showed some great local color. I didn't expect much but was surprised by the building and the tour.

Welcoming tour by manager gave some local colour, it has a chequered history so do not expect La Scala !

I've been to the Opera House twice now. It's in the historic district and it's not a state-of-the-art venue. But it gives me a nice feeling to watch performances there.
