Stopped here for a hike and had an amazing time. We hiked the Gundy Forest Day Loop and loved it. The loop is 2 miles round trip, we went to see Sycamore Falls which adds an additional 1.2 miles. There are 3 waterfalls if you add Sycamore. The scenery is fantastic. There is plenty of parking also. Do yourself a... More

We had a beautiful drive through this area as one in our group was not well. I want to come back to do the trails! We drove and it was very pretty. Saw the Coke Ovens, which were very interesting and learned about the history of the area. You can make this area as strenuous as you want. So peaceful.

Grundy County is one of the most beautiful places in America! It's like a step back in time when you enter the Forrest Natural area. The world is untouched by man, and it's a rare find.

The picturesque views of Nature here are awe inspiring. A great place to wander alone or with family and friends. Gain some sanity...some tranquility...some peace of mind. Sit, relax, breathe. Get back to Nature.

This is a beautiful place. Some awesome falls... not too big... but all the same great. A lot of the trail follows along the creek bed and there are a few really good swimming holes when the water is up during spring and early summer.

Grundy Forest is a state natural area just outside Tracy City that is now part of South Cumberland State Park. The forest contains a roughly 2.5-mile loop day hike and the northern trailhead of Fiery Gizzard Trail. The trail leads 12 miles to Foster Falls to the south. There are a number of scenic little waterfalls located within the forest.... More

This was a very picturesque walk through the woods. The terrain was good for a work out, but could be taken as at a slow leisurely pace. The waterfalls, and water is beautiful. They obviously work really hard to maintain the trails. I would recommend this for anyone near the area. There were different length trails as well as overnight... More

We hiked this trail also called the Grundy Day Loop, It's at the beginning of the Fiery Gizzard Trail that goes all the way to Foster Falls. This trail is challenging at times so be prepared. There are some spots where there are rocks for trails and you must able to climb or walk over very uneven spots. Most of... More

Hiked to sycamore falls from the Grundy Loop trailhead. There's a sign for the Fiery Gizzard trail - this is the right place to start for Sycamore Falls. There is a sign for the Grundy Forest Loop which would get you to the turnoff also but would take longer. The Fiery Gizzard trail is next to a lovely creek with... More
