Great times at The Douglas Corner Cafe

One of the best open mic nights in the area, it was on Tuesdays when I was last there, saw so many great acts in one night, totally packed house.

In a city where people are genuinely nice I was unpleasantly surprised by the unprofessional general attitude in this establishment. Rude is an understatement. There are certainly better places to go see musical acts and definitely better food. The menu is tiny and the bartenders make the food??? Okay so maybe you aren't going for food just to see some... Had a great night here whilst visiting Nashville. I went on a Monday night (I think) and saw two bands both very good. The place itself is great, good bar service and plenty of tables or you can stand at bar if you like. Nice to be away from the strip and only a short ride back to downtown.

My husband and I stopped in last night for the early show which was free. I think they charge for the later show. We've been here many times and it never disappoints. Last night's show was no exception. It was a singer songwriter in the round format and the talent was amazing. It doesn't hurt that the acoustics are great.... More

It's a place you would walk by because there is nothing gimmicky to draw your attention inside. Actually, it is way off off the tourist path, but worth the effort because the music performed is excellent. I was fortunate to go to a private party to listen to some of country music's greatest singer song writers, Dean Dillon, Phil O'Donnel... More

My husband and I went here to listen to a band. We had never heard of the place but really wanted to hear the band. It's a small venue with standard Cafe tables. The wine selection was Yellow Tail but this looked more like a beer crowd place. We read reviews so did not plan on food, we ate elsewhere.... More

In Nashville for less than 24 hours and I find my first open mic at the Douglas Corner Cafe. I was ready to play, but this being the meca for people 'ready to play', I missed one important fact; to get on stage at this open mic a person must call at 1PM and leave a message with their name.... 45 RPM is always worth seeing @ Douglas Corner! Solid hard core country music with steel & fiddle and songs that we can relate to... Mike Johnson, session steel player is always very good together with his charming wife Joanie Keller... Most of the time they will bring in a guest, sometimes a wellknown Opry star... Very recommended!

If you get to Nashville and want to see a good band in a true Nashville setting you should go. It's not the typical tourist night spot & not located near the typical tourist venues, but it's worth going to if you like good music. Don't go for the country music, they rarely have country music.
