Belle Meade Plantation is a non-profit historic site located in Nashville, TN. Established in 1807, Belle Meade was revered as the greatest thoroughbred stud farm in the United States. It was home to Iroquois, the first American bred horse to win the Epsom Derby and the great foundation sire,Bonnie Scotland, whose descendants include Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Native Dancer, Big Brown and California Chrome. Belle Meade was owned and operated by the Harding-Jackson family for nearly a century from 1807 until 1906. Today their home is restored to its turn of the century appearance along with several original outbuildings.

I had seen a brochure on the plantation at our hotel and so we decided to stop in and visit on our free time while in Nashville. We only purchased the grounds tour and I found the whole experience to be lacking. Really only one...More

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with friends learning about the history of the plantation, exploring the grounds and enjoying some delicious wine.

A little pricey for what you get. No one in our group drinks wine, so that perceived benefit was wasted on us. I would rather that be optional. The Andrew Jackson house tour is more affordable and comes with more benefits (sound on grounds). I...More

If you love history and architecture you will enjoy this tour! Reasonable price for a guided tour of home - self-guided tour of the grounds (lots to see outside too) & wine tasting afterwards. Keep an eye out for rocking chairs rocking on their own.

I had no idea about this Plantations connection to some very famous horses. Your entrance fee includes tasting wine from their winery.

Despite the rain and cold we toured this gem of a mansion and were quite impressed. The place is well maintained and the staff was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Make sure to eat at the restaurant here for a meal you won’t forget. When you...More

Belle Meade is worthy of a tour. Our guide, Cliff, did an excellent job telling the story about the various family members who resided in the house and the horses whose blood lines live on. In addition to the history, a wine tasting completes the...More

On my first visit to Nashville a week or so ago I visited the Bella Meade Plantation. As I'm a real estate agent I'm always interested in properties and this one did not disappoint. Also the tour guide was wearing period costume (a beautiful dress)...More

We really had high hopes for the tour. It was just too quick. Couldn't go in any of the rooms. Which would have been really neat. Really feel like we missed out on a lot.

It was amazing! It was decorated for Christmas and it was spectacular. We were on a girls trip and were so happy with our tour. Our tour guide could answer an question we had. Beautifully preserved plantation. I would go again!

I did not notice any Segways on the Plantation. The landmarks are fairly close to each other and we're easy to walk to.

I do not believe that the house was air-conditioned (at least not all of it)-- but it was comfortable during the tour as they do have some type of ventilation that seemed to keep it at a reasonable temperature even when it... More

We used Uber and Lyft while is Nashville. Some drivers worked for both companies and they told us that Lyft vets their drivers more and also their cars. I don't plan to use Uber again. I think either would take you anywhere... More
