We really enjoyed our walk up to the summit. It took around 50 minutes. It was pretty chilly but as you get moving, you warm up quickly. The views are beautiful! Dogs are not permitted so leave your furry friends at home. We hadn't planned...More

Hanging rock is always fun, we took some visitors. Good for people with any degree of fitness. Although not recommended by management it's heaps of fun to crawl over the rocks and explore for hours. Must keep an eye on young kids as lots of...More

I visited Hanging Rock with a friend from Queensland during the Easter break. It was super crowded, a lot more people than we expected. The climb to the summit was a test on the thigh muscles! Lovely views from the top. We had a nice...More

Very nice views of the rocks. Quite an easy climb. We could go to the summit with 3 year olds. Can easily spend a day here. There is a small playground as well which will keep the kids happy. Will surely visit again during summer.

We did both the base and creek walk (took an approximate time of 1.5 hours). Enjoyed the nice scenery and the occasional animal (kangaroos and foxes) but would have preferred if there were better signages throughout the trail. There were moments when we didn't know...More

Visited today and climbed to the summit. I hadn't realised before today that "Hanging Rock" is the whole formation, but a boulder suspended between two cliff rocks. It was pretty cool to walk under the precarious rock, however the real attraction for me was the...More

$10 per car load. Gates close at 5pm. we didn't go in the café or climb the rock as it was late. But did go in the visitor centre which was informative, and did see kangaroos.

There is a caravan park at Macedon. Only a 10-15 minute drive from hanging rock. I haven't stayed there so can't comment on it. The Macedon area is a very pretty part of Victoria. Much wildlife around if that's your thing... More
