The NED KELLY MUSEUM is part of KATE'S COTTAGE GIFTS SOUVENIRS MUSEUM & replica of the KELLY HOMESTEAD. Step through back of shop to the NED KELLY MUSEUM and an authentic replica of the Kelly Homestead... like the words of the song ... truly the "ramshackle hut" . Excellent historic coverage of the Kelly era. Rated 'The Best Ned Kelly Museum" by Getaway and featured on their show at least three times. Somehow this one business has two separate listing for TripAdvisor reviews. Would you kindly take the time to review both KATE'S COTTAGE and the NED KELLY MUSEUM ? Thanks to all travellers who took the time to review us.

We ventured into this museum before heading up the street to the animated show (not recommended) and was warmly welcomed. For a small entrance fee we wandered around quite a few artefacts either owned by the Kelly family or from that era. Nice having the...More

Thanks for your review . The music and narration is from Lazy Harry's The Ned Kelly story CD which we have sold through the shop for over 33 years. Our museum and homestead entrance fee is affordable at the one price all year round( doesn't...More

Find this difficult to write without appearing rude, but the whole place looked like it was in a time warp and I couldn't wait to get out. I know times were different in the 19th century but I can't believe they never cleaned the cottage.More

Hi You are correct that you should feel like you are in a time warp as was intended. Some folks freak out at the sight of spider webs and there certainly are a few of those. As the song said " Ned Kelly lived in...More

Well at least I thought so. Not sure our teenage boys were fully embracing the historical significance. But interesting place - good overview of history - armour and homestead. Pretty cheap entry at $11 for the 3 of us. Worth a stop.More

That is a pity that your children didnt enjoy the display. They obviously, on that day, t didnt get the cockatoos talking. The cockys love kids and usually dance and talk.... asking " Hello ... what is your name?" That always surprises them. If the...More

Tucked away in the Tourist Information Centre is this small but important museum. Great display and very informative. The prize of the museum is the stained soaked sash of Ned Kelly and the portable prison cell. The staff are friendly and well read about their...More

This place is amazing ! A must visit especially with children. The tour is well presented and value for money. It was great meeting the elderly owner and his young grandson who have taken so much pride in putting together such an excellent place.

Thank you for the review. The cockatoos are very entertaining and have quite a vocabulary.... much of which we will not be held responsibel for. I think you can blame the cheeky backpackers for that. Cheers Chris
