Surprising 360 view from Mr Pilot lookout

Tucked away just off the main Rd and a short 300m stepped climb up to a surprising 360 degree view over all surrounding forest and farm land

360 views but quite underwhelmed with the views. Pretty average. Lots of small insects and mozzies even in autumn. Dont bother if you dont have much time. Walk up ok on granite steps but still puffing slightly on warm day.

We drove to the Mt Pilot car park then climbed to the summit for spectacular 360 degree views. But hang onto your hat, strong winds will happily remove it for you! There is a fire lookout tower at the top and a brass directional plaque pointing to various distant landmarks. The climb to the summit is not hard, but it... More

Nice park, make sure to head to Woolshed Falls and Mt Pilot. Lots of history around the Magenta Mine area. White box walk is worth the time as well

Not far off the road along a dirt track was a parking area then a steep walk towards to the top of the mountain with wonderful all round views, worth a trip to see the view.

White Box 8 km circuit walk was a great way to spend a few hrs in the bush. Lots of wild flowers and wildlife. Watching this this lace monitor was a highlight of our walk. Good picnic facilities available.

Lovely spot for a picnic and a bush walk, bit of a climb up the rocks to the top but well worth it for the view and the peace and quiet. Lots of wildlife about.

It is quite a pleasant drive through the Forest to reach the Caves. They are great to explore but you must be careful.

This park has a deserved reputation for bird-watching. We spent a very pleasant day roaming around the honeyeater picnic grounds and other spots finding plenty of wildlife. The website has plenty of good information and you can pick up brochures etc in Chiltern. We'll be back for a more thorough exploration. All the roads we saw we ok for 2... More
