The Savoy has a varied programme of both live, cinema and special events such as London shows on film. The theatre is in excellent condition, mainly due to the tireless efforts of the volunteer staff and fundraisers. If you want to see the genuine nature of bygone years it is a superb trip down memory lane for the older generation... More

A family evening out in this historic building. The panto was enjoyed by young and old. Took me back to my teenage years and Saturday afternoon at the cinema.

A delightful little theatre which accommodates fewer than 400 people in the stalls and circle. Very friendly, helpful and informal staff. A nice little bar and another down at the front of the theatre in the interval. I believe it doubles as a cinema too. We were in Row B so had a terrific view of the band and the... More

Having loved from a town that doesn't have anything like this, it's such a breath of fresh air to have a cinema just up the road from where I live. It's also a theatre and top comedians etc visit regularly making it a fantastic local attraction. It's places like these that have died off over the years and then are... More

It's at least 50 years since I went here last, it's a perfect throughback to the past. We were surprised it was built in 1928, as it looks / feels more Victorian. Lovely place, lovely atmosphere, excellently supported by the staff and very enjoyable venue.

We are regular visitors to the Savoy & we are very pleased that it has improved over the last few months. It used to be quite cold inside but the heating has improved & it is much more comfortable. The sound quality is like TV is on many programmes, it can be rather muffled, apart from that the theatre itself... More

Step back in time to a more elegant form of cinema experience, walking in to the auditorium is a real delight. Great bar, comfortable seats and genuine character. Found out it is run as a charity with many of the friendly and helpful staff being volunteers. Worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.
