The Peabody Hotel is one of Memphis oldest hotels, lovely architecture, very central to the city centre and a very strange tradition that draws a whole bunch of people at 5pm to watch a few ducks go from one of the water fountains back up...More

It’s all over the top as you expect. They cone out of the lift waddle down the red carpet and into the fountain. All while music is being played. The duck runs are 11am and 5pm. It gets busy and if you can not get...More

The Peabody has been doing the duck march for about 90 years. We did the 5pm march. Get there early and buy a drink so you can sit in the lobby bar area. Must be a quest of the hotel or purchasing a drink to...More

If you are easily entertained by animals you will love this. As other reviews said, a lot of fanfare for a short waddle into the fountain, but the ducks are so cute! We arrived plenty early so were able to get front row viewing. If...More

Probably one of the cutest things I’ve seen. Very Family Friendly & I suggest anyone with kids GO SEE THEM. Kids get the best seat in the house right next to the Red Carpet. Great stop in or out of Memphis after Graceland! :) they...More

We had to wait quite a while because you have to get there early to get a good vantage point. But well worth it to see the ducks come down in the elevator from the rooftop, where they live, and then walk along the red...More

Spent a good 40 min waiting for the ducks to get off the elevator and walk to the water fountain. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Better suited for children but did enjoy it. Get there early to get the best views.

We happened to be at the Peabody over Mother's Day weekend and it was so busy, we really only got a chance to see the ducks after they got to the fountain. All the same, quite a treat and I'm sure during other days of...More

I believe it is free. We didn't see them march, but walked right into the hotel lobby, saw them swimming in the fountain, spoke with the duck master, and took the elevator up to the duck palace, which was really just going... More

This question has been answered...the ducks arrive at 1100 every morning...and depart at 1700. Suggest you get to the hotel early...say 9-10...have a coffee and nudge into just outside the lifts. Be prepared to be jostled... More
