Allow time to walk up and down the scale Mississippi River. Unbelievable! I've always thought of the Mississippi being relatively straight, there are so many twists and turns, not only in the water, but the stories detailed on the placards too.

Just a few blocks from downtown Memphis you can take a cute little mono rail ride to mud lsland river park right on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. The river definitely takes centre stage she is fast flowing and as you walk through...More

I would give it 5 stars but the lack of Maintence is allowing it to be run down & trash scattered around some ( not bad but not good either ) It is great seeing the enormity of the " Mighty Mississippi " and reading...More

Enjoyed the Mississippi River display. Nice that this is free. Educational way to stretch legs outdoors. Skip the $4 monorail ride however. Only leaves every 15min and you can walk across the foot bridge for free in the same amount of time or less.

Located in the Mississippi River, this park contains a miniature model of the river. From the headwaters to the delta you can traverse the river in a few blocks, noting the cities, contributing rivers and cities along the way. A museum of the river takes...More

I only gave this an " average" recommendation because the weather dictates what your experience will be, concerts are great here. Not a bad place to visit to get some history on how it was formed and the Mississippi River. If your willing to brave...More

We'd planned to go to the Nat Civil Rights Museum, but they didn't open until 12. So we headed off to Mud Island Park in the morning. What a pleasant surprise. Kids were having fun getting wet in the model of the lower Mississippi River....More

I would assume that the actual park would be open...because it is outdoors. But I agree with Jenny W., I would call first. This was the first time I had been since I was little. So I am not familiar with their scheduling. Im... More
