Catch The Fever
May 2021
I went along with the family not expecting much. But once you get there, you really get pulled into Elvis and his life. Although they were rushing people a bit on the day we went, they still deserve 5 stars because the tour of the house was so interesting and comprehensive, and then the side tours of cars and museums, and it really makes you wish Elvis was still with us. Give yourself plenty of time to really take it all in.

For some reason...
Mar 2021
I always wanted to go to Graceland. I never really followed Elvis. But I remember when he died: my parent where shocked, and grief stricken.

I pre-booked the ticket for Presidents’ Day weekend and then early the morning of, I called and asked if I could move my reservation up because a storm was coming in and they were very accommodating.

I only spent 1.5 hours there but I didn’t feel particularly rushed. It’s much smaller than I imagined. But It’s such a special unique location. The visuals of the interior design were stunning. I was so happy I visited. I had a really good feeling there about Elvis and what he achieved. It’s like living a dream.

Lifelong Bucket List DREAM COME TRUE!
May 2021 • Couples
We left Texas to attend a memorial service in Kansas City, MO,& decided to make a fun getaway trip around that event.
I had purchased VIP tickets online weeks before. At that time visitors were required to choose a specific time range to start the tour. We chose 2:30 on a Thursday,& the parking lot was not full or busy at all.
Similarly, the tour wasn’t crowded at all. There was one other couple (from Washington state) on the shuttle to Elvis’ home.
When we arrived inside at the ticket counter, things moved quickly. On our way to the shuttle, there was a photo op. We channeled our inner tourist and bought the photos for $35’ish.
Once we arrived at the home our shuttle drive gave us the listening device for our tour.
This was a very nice technological tool.
Keep in mind you can only your the lower level, nothing on the upper level.
If you come with the expectation that everything (decor and furnishings) are frozen in time, you won’t be disappointed. Remember everything here was state if the art in the 1970’s.
The grounds are beautiful. You’re able to see the trophy room, racquetball court, the horses, gravesites snd so much more!
Once we went back to the exhibit area it was mind blowing. Each building contains different items that belonged to Elvis. Cars, costumes, his life in the military, Lisa Marie exhibit and so much more!
There are gift shops throughout the tour.
Bring good walking shoes, dress according to the weather,& make sure your phone is charged has enough storage! I took over 400 photos!

Learned so much about his life
Jun 2021
Originally, we had decided not to visit Graceland mainly because no one in our family is a big Elvis fan. But when the rain hit, and our outdoor activity was not possible, we gave it a try. I did learn so much about his life and music. This place is mammoth, and contains a massive amount of memorabilia. I enjoyed looking at the two planes on display, and the numerous cars. He is pictured as larger than life, although Elvis had his dark side which is not portrayed. The price is steep, and I wish they would reconsider ticket options so you could a la carte what you want to see for a more moderate price. Our two teens were so-so about the experience.

Nice to See but LOTS of Waiting
Jun 2021 • Couples
It was nice to see Elvis’ home. It was restored to its vintage ‘50s look. We were only allowed to see the first floor, basement, a small museum and the grounds. It was self-guided with an iPad audio/video. We waited hours for a tour that took about 30-minutes. We waited indoors for a short video, then we waited outside for a bus to take us to the house, then we waited outside before going in the house. We bought the $75 tickets, but the people who bought the $200+ “super” VIP tickets were brought to the front of the line many times. They didn’t have to wait at all, which made our wait much longer. I get that they paid extra for that, but they would take a half-full bus of VIPs and leave the rest of us standing in the heat.

You gotta do it...
Jun 2021
Let's face it - if you are in Memphis, you have to go here. Be prepared to spend some time... and I would suggest that you get there early. We started our "experience" at 9 am and by noon, the place was packed.

It is always interesting to see how the King lived... and Graceland really is a time capsule of the late 70's. The displays across the street are interesting because it shows you difference facets of his life and career. It is easy to forget how important Elvis was to rock and roll until you have this experience.

So, yes, spend the money and go - you will not regret the time spent.

First Visit to Graceland!
Jun 2021
Have been hoping to get to Graceland for a long time and finally had the opportunity. We took the VIP Tour- expensive but we felt it was well worth it. The tour group is only about 10 people and you have a private guide explaining things and answering questions along the way. Included is the experience of seeing some of the things that the rest of the tours do not see and (after putting gloves on!) having the chance to handle some of the memorabilia such as the keys to the pink Cadillac!

Also included is credit for lunch at Vernons BBQ. Honestly not anything special about the food at all- somewhat mediocre but that was only negative to the entire day. I was surprised at how many exhibits there were and how much there was to explore.

Great trip- recommend the VIP Tour!

So Much To See
Jun 2021
I thought we were going to see Elvis' house and some cars. What we ended up getting was a look at history.

I really enjoyed the time capsule sort of stuff around the property. Report cards, pay stubs, birth certificates, old furniture, and hundreds of other things were fascinating to me. It also struck me that a man with more money than anyone, living with more luxuries than anyone, did not even have appliances and other things that would be up to middle class standards in 2021. That is not a knock, but just something that I found interesting. It put a few things in perspective for me.

My wife took away something different, and she could write her own review if she would like. But we both enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Based on that, my ultimate takeaway is that there is something for everyone. Whether you love Elvis, love music, love history, love luxury, or love memorabilia, you will be glad you went.

I also have to say that the gravesite at the end of the tour ended up being more of an emotional experience than I thought it would be. I was not in tears, but I do not see how a true Elvis fan would not be. I was not yet 2 years old when Elvis died, so it is hard to recognize the impact of his death. For those that were fans, when he was alive, it may be hard to keep it together at the end of the tour.

A bucket list experience
Jun 2021 • Couples
I thought it was very well done. Our guide was excellent. For the Elvis lover, definitely plan more time that you think. We did the Ultimate VIP Experience and with that ticket we could have gone back to revisit areas once the official tour was over. We were there for the full four hours with lunch included and we didn’t get to see it all. Could have spent a couple more hours going through the parts we didn’t get to. Elvis fans will love it. Even non Elvis fans can enjoy the experience given the importance of Elvis in music history.
