Arrived and greeting by the owners and the staff.

We’ll signposted and easy to find. They’re trekking pony’s not competition horses so we knew they were going to be cob plods. Lovely area for a hack through the farm up onto a hill for a short canter.

Staff are really told what to do via the walker talkies and the way the staff talk to people who know how to ride and ride a lot better than themselves is a bit degrading. Horses can hack in groups and doesn’t have to be single file with a 7 meter gap between each horse...

It was a good experience, wouldn’t rush back to do it again. The tack needs a good clean, saddles do no fit the horses some of we’re riding which made the ride a bit uncomfortable when trotting and cantering.

They offer Segway experience which is fun to try but again very much a one off 20 minute experience and wouldn’t rush back to do it again. We were very much put in lines and told what to do and obey orders.

I am pleased we are well signposted and that we greeted our customers well. It was a pleasure to work with such a lovely group of students in this way, This was a taster session to promote rural business and allow the students a very small insight into the challenges of running a business while at the same time allowing them to experience some of our activities ( at a very discounted price may I say } I am sorry that this did not live up to the reviewer`s expectations and trust it was not the opinion of the group as a whole. We value the relationship we have had over the past few years with the university and hope to continue in the future. Pony Trekking is what it says on the tin! A gentle ride over the countryside with no guarantee that there will be any faster work. This is dependent on many factors. Rider ability, staff/ customer ratio, weather, horses used in the trek. to name but a few, The staff are very experienced and follow procedures we have both developed and constantly reviewed over the past 19 years. If the reviewer ever has a business of this nature of their own in the future , they will discover that customer safety is paramount. We cannot always depend on an accurate self assessment of the rider`s ability. therefore we have to be sure before we allow faster work As the reviewer was riding one horse I am unsure how he managed to check all the tack. This is inspected every August in order attain a licence to operate. I trust the vet knows his job!! Segway trekking has even more challenges safety wise. This again was a taster session and not the true picture of what customers would experience. I wish all the students all the best in their future journeys in life

We were looking for a place where our family could all go on a trek together. On arrival we were met by Janet and her team who quickly allocated us to our horses and made sure that we were happy. We had an hours ride around the beautiful countryside and all of us, from the 9 year to the 67 year old thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all very encouraging. We walked for the majority of the ride as we are all novices but I’m sure there would have been an opportunity to canter if we were more competent. I would highly recommend them and we will definitely book in next year when we next visit the area.

Had a fantastic trip to Castle Rednock. Set on beautiful grounds we had booked in for Segway trekking. 2 adults with 11 and 12 year old. Janet was amazing showing us what to do in barn before we went out on the trek with her. Beautiful surrounding loved whizzing through the fields. Highly recommend

Me and my friends (four people) visited Rednock Castle Trekking hoping we would spend an hour or so horse riding in beautiful country side.
When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and owner. We were given helmets and they asked every one of us about our experience with horses. After that we were assigned our horses. My friends are beginners so they were a bit worried but everything was perfect. Even experienced riders could canter at some points when the rest tried to trot or just walked to the meeting place. We learned about monuments and castles around and even interesting tidbits about the lake nearby.
We came back that day for a second ride. 😊
So I want to say BIG THANK YOU to staff and owners of the stables and the horses for lovely day.

We were up from Yorkshire holidaying in the Trossachs with our family (4 adults and one teenager), and fancied a bit of trekking. Although we only booked an hour, we had a good long walk around the surrounding countryside. We were all absolute beginners, and the staff managed that well, whilst enabling us to feel quite independent with our ponies. The chap who led the group provided a great commentary about the horses, the countryside and the wildlife - very personable! We even managed to spot some deer close by, which was quite special! It was the highlight of our holiday! Can’t recommend them enough and, next time we visit the area, we shall definitely return. :)

my friend Ailsa and I booked for a one hour trek, everyone at the stables is really friendly and supportive, we went on a one hour trek and it was brilliant, it gave me back the confidence I had, I used to ride when I was a child. Ailsa who is a new rider also really enjoyed it. We had children and adults in our hack group and everybody was supported. I would advise beginners or experienced riders to use these stables due to the expertise on hand. I wished I lived closer so I could go all the time.

This was the least fun segway trip we have ever experienced due to the bossy almost bullying nature of the owner. All but one of our party are seasoned segwayers but I have nwver felt less joy whilst on a Segway. If yiu want fun please go elsewhere. It was a professional and I will say safe tour but if you dare to do anything outwith tge INSTRUCTIONS then prepare to be firmly put in your place. We are proficient in the segway but this jyst seemed to be a challenge to the iwner to make sure we kept in line at all times.

As stated one if our party was a novice and had priblems in tge reasonably steep decline from the training area. At no time had there been advice on how to deal with such a hill and when tge segway went iut if control she just barked orders. When she reached tge vittom she dud luttle to reassure the teenager but just told her off.

We assumed at the next available opportunity she would check that
she could cope wuth a hill both down and up before continuing. We dud try and give advice on how we had been trained elsewhere but this was scoffed at as we were curtly told this had only hapoened once before in the 8 years they had run the segway experience. She let us kniw that she ensures she keeps a tight control on all customers obviously to ensure their safety but if you do want fun please go elsewhere. If you want to ensure safety then please ensure that yiu are trained in the vagaries of the hill before you go down it. When I suggested this mught stop a further runaway segway it was again scoffed at.
The least enjoyable segway we have enciuntered tgat with a more enthusiastic coach could have been one of the best.
I am sure the response to this will make interesting reading as we will of course be the ones at fault

I was fortunate to have a private trek with stunning views guided by Rachel. I was very happy to ride LB , we were a good match, and see the countryside. Uphil trough streams and fields with sheep and deer. The horses are well looked after and everybody on the Farm is very nice! Definately a place to come back to!!
