Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places. Just as special as the magnificent scenery is the famous steamship "Sir Walter Scott" which itself has been a landmark in The Trossachs for over a hundred years. Your visit is not complete without a cruise on this wonderful ship, or on "Lady of the Lake", the perfect way to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine. Perhaps you'll just want to relax with a coffee or a meal in the Brenachoile Cafe Bar, shop for a souvenir and take a stroll by the shore, or bring the family for a cycle trip?

Lovely walk along the waters edge overlooking the beautiful Loch Katrine. Had a look around the outside of their new lodges. They look great and would like to spend a couple of nights in them perhaps during our next visit.

This was a two hour cruise from one end of the Loch Katrine to the other, and quite simply, you either liked it, or you didn’t. No middle ground. I loved it, and a glorious sunny day made it it an exceptional trip, and the...More

Amazing setting with great walks around Loch Katrine. Really good for biking and hiking. There is a ferry which frequently runs tours around the loch. A really good thing to fill up a whole day of fun walks with family or friends. The car park...More

We took the Sir Walter Scott steamboat across the loch and had our breakfast at The Pier cafe. Beautiful scenery and the food was delicious. Traditional Scottish breakfast, veggie option available. We then walked back round the lock which took about 4.5 hours. Stunning scenery...More

Hi There, as it is inland water the loch is usually quite smooth, we do get the occasional ripple but it's not bad. I do get sixk on the sea myself but Loch Katrine should be ok for you!
