A most interesting Victorian gothic great house set in beautiful gardens. Small private party with a very knowledgeable guide who made sure we saw everything we could. Things to see are the striking stain glass windows and the crystal set ceiling.

Mount Stuart is located on the gorgeous Island of Bute - approx 20mins from the town centre but well worth the visit - beautiful building and grounds to explore with fantastic art, and steeped in history.

every 15 minutes or so. although a taxi is very reasonable. There is a Mini bus takes you within the grounds and is included in the admission fee.
