Unique Shopping Experience
Jul 2019
Drawn into this beautiful shop by the colourful clothes and items on display when walking around Portree on holiday.

Immediately welcomed by owner with the offer of coffee, good seating area for bored men while their ladies shop and interesting photo board with messages from satisfied customers from all over the world.

Owner and his wife give information about the fabrics and products and how their operation works, all very interesting.

Help given if required but equally able to browse at length without being hassled.

Huge range of beautiful vibrant batik fabric clothes, bags, toys and novelty items that make good hoilday keepsakes, think batik fabric thistles, midges, seals and puffins! It took me ages to make my purchases as so spoilt for choice at reasonable prices for such high quality hand made items.

The view from the window at the back of the shop over the Loch and mountains was also simply stunning.

Will definitely be shopping there again when visiting the isle of Skye

Lovely shop
Jul 2019 • Couples
Such a lovely shop, I always stop by when I'm in Portree. Love all the items they sell, the incredibly friendly service and just the whole atmosphere. I also really appreciate the cuppa they offer, which as a coffee lover I find hard to refuse, but unfortunately it comes in polystyrene (if I'm not mistaken), one of the types of plastic that has the most downsides. The shop, very eco-minded, started selling lovely homemade beeswax reusable wraps for using at home, maybe transfer this ecofriendly attitude to your lovely hospitality cups? We'll see next time I drop by :)

Best shop in Skye!!
Feb 2019 • Family
We stumbled across the shop whilst campervaning around Skye for the kids half term break.
I was instantly drawn to the lovey bright colours in the window and then instantly welcomed by the offer of coffee from the owner ( a lovely gentleman whose name i can not remember, Sorry!!)
The shop is bright and welcoming and has the most amazing display of goods from bags to hair scrunchies to cotton thistles!
You have to visit this place if you are in Portree in Skye as the items are too nice to miss out on.
I am delighted with my bucket bag and my daughter is delighted with her new hair scrunchies!
Thank you and we hope to see you and your shop again one day.

Stopped in Skye Batiks on a tour of the Highlands and was do pleased to find such beautiful, unique hand made dyed fabrics, made locally.they also had great quality performance gear. The scarves I bought were the best gifts because they had the feeling of Isle of Skye.
Owner was charming and nice to us tourists.Ask about "Joke wall".Love to go back and stay longer in that shop and in Potree.

Too much to choose from!
Jul 2018
I visited this shop after seeing a leaflet elsewhere and knew I had to go there. I ended up with three small bags and could have easily bought more bags...which I still need to do! The staff were very welcoming with free coffee on offer while browsing. I shall return there sometime, but in the meantime need to order a couple of bags by post soon.

A Warm Welcome
Jun 2018
From the moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome, from the offer of coffee to the availability of someone to answer questions, but who didn't hover while we browsed. We went back the next day to make purchases and they appreciated the sale, and the fact that we came back.

I love the whole concept of the shop and am thoroughly enjoying my purchases.

Colourful, welcoming shop. Lovely for a browse
Aug 2018 • Solo
I popped in here after being attracted by the colourful window display and was immediately greeted by a very friendly assistant who offered me a cup of coffee as I looked round. Pity you don't get that kind of service in more places.
It's a lovely shop for a browse as it's spacious, bright and - obviously, given the items on display - very colourful.
There's a great range of batik items, including clothes, scarves, aprons and bags and it's not at all badly priced. I bought two lovely scarves and I think it's a great place to buy gifts. Well worth a visit!
