If you want to explore somewhere with a real feel of wildness, this is wonderful. The moor and woods are overgrown and make for tough going but the hidden beaches are worth all the effort and you'll probably have them to yourself. Try and find the oak valley if you can.

A few miles from Fionnphort the Tireragan Estate is a wildflower haven with a lush, overgrown walk down to a quiet beach. There is a notice board at the start of the walk with routes and wildlife to look out for. Beware though, some of the signposts and waymarkers are often overgrown and impossible to find.

Shhh the secret beach is really secret. You have to make an effort to walk there through boggy ground and across a small fell but if you are physically fit just go there but don't tell anyone else!

This walk starts at the makeshift car park for Knockvologan Beach, so you take the road just as you enter Fionnphort where it says "Free Parking" head past Fidden Campsite and eventually you will reach the closed gate for Knockvologan Farm, this is where you park up. To the left of the road there is a farm gate with a... More

You have varied scenery during the whole walk, past clearance cottages and finishing at a stunning beach with amazing views south.

Just been on Mull with a group of friends and we visited Tireragan Estate. It's a beautiful spot and we were lucky to be there on a very sunny hot day. It may be an idea if you have an OS map to take it with you since it is not the most well sign posted walk I have ever... More
