Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited today with our grandchildren and their parents. Had a lovely experience. Children loved the hands on objects, and the tanks filled with sea life. This is a fabulous place to visit. This is our 2nd visit. Loved it as much as the 1st. Don't miss out on viewing the working Bee Hive. Bee's busy making honey in front of your eyes. Fascinating stuff. Really worth a visit ☺

A relaxed trip with lots of interesting artefacts and great display boards of local nature and marine life facts. Children can get right up close to a crab, starfish, lobster, caterpillars, froglets, a bee hive and more. A donation is requested for entry which we were more than happy to give.

Had an interesting visit here with a few generations of family including our four year-old son. Lots to interest us all. Amongst other things our Son especially loved watching the big crab and lobster in tanks, painting a picture and watching the bees in their hive. Currently trialling donations only. Hopefully people donate appropriately so it can be kept this way. Well run, lots of effort clearly put in, would highly recommend whilst on islay

Really engaging couple of hours spend learning from a wealth of expertise on topics from whales to geology. Kids were fully absorbed and adults learned loads too. Lilly the lobster was a highlight.

Is kind of home-spin but that only adds to its charm. The exhibits are all relevant to the area and the staff friendly and informative. Children should love it.

Nearly opposite the museum and well worth a visit, so interactive the lady in charge wiped the sightings board and put all mine up ! to which I added a Great Northern diver fishing outside the centre with a juvenile, ran to the car and got the scope on it, 100% GN diver and it was calling. The movie on golden pond was right there in my head. Anyway that was outside, inside was very informative and educational especially for kids, great place.
