A good walk round
Sep 2020
Free parking although toilets 40p, a good walk round looking at the shops and cafe's, no views of Loch ness so need to drive further on. Boat trips are available from the shop.

A great place to stop and eat
Sep 2020 • Couples
Don’t try to get in at the post office - the service is dire. Take a picnic or buy sandwiches at the local co-op and eat on the green. Pub and bistro very busy - take your own or buy in a local shop. Nice to hear a little bit of music whilst we where there.

Pretty little place
Sep 2020 • Couples
The village green is very pretty, and a lovely place to enjoy some local food when the weather permits. The floral displays and well maintained grass really make the experience, as do the pretty B&Bs around the outside Whilst the tourist shops can be a little tacky, they’re a necessary boost for the economy in these areas so try not to be too harsh on them!

Disappointing
Aug 2020
Headed for this village as we’d been told it was the centre for Loch Ness and we could find walks and information. However the tourist info was closed (covid) and the walk we followed from a sign in the car park was okay but nothing special. We would have been better off going to Fort Augustus.

Very picturesque village by loch ness side. A great place to stop for a rest. Cafes abound and regularly there is a piper playing on the Green. Good free parking available.

We ate a few times in the village and it was always bustling, even enjoyed the young piper entertaining everyone.

Do not visit
Oct 2019
What a poor experience. This is a tourist trap. Just a few shops with souvenirs around a square. Don't go there unless you need a quick marriage.

Typical Village Green
Jul 2019
As the centre of the village it has shops, restaurants, cafes and a pub. We couldn't get in to the pub to eat as it was full, so I suggest reserving a table if you'd like to eat there. We settled for fish & chips from a wagon outside one of the cafes and sat in the designated area of wooden tables and sun umbrellas: it was very English and very pleasant. Overall, the Green was kept in a pristine condition and was lovely.

Charming little park
May 2019 • Solo
The park is lined with gift shops & places to eat. There are a few picnic tables set out on the grass. In the park, there is a floral model version of Urquhart Castle which is on the shores of Loch Ness. Cleverly done & a sight to see. Definitely make a stop!!
