This place is absolutely Amazing - although we visited in close season so no tours available. The waterfall inside is fascinating and we even walking up to the top to see it going through into caves! Amazing piece of natural beauty! Stop off for a visit if in the NC500

I found myself in Durness with work last spring and I decided to go for a walk at night. As well as finding that Durness is a lovely little place to walk around at night I also discovered Smoo Cave. Now I'm sure you're not supposed to go down to the bottom of the cave at night but I've got... More

Fantastic place for a visit, we visited after heavy rains and the waterfall in the 2nd 'room' was a force to be reckoned with. My other half is not fond of caves, but even she managed to go in and have a sneak peak.

We visited early in the morning just after sun rise and enjoyed the short walk down from the car park. There was some interesting information to read around the site. Kids loved the cave and my youngest swears she saw jake and the neverland pirates.

Smoo caves is just stunning, along with the surrounding coast line and beaches. Although there is some parking we had to park on the road due to lack of space. This was no issue and was just a short walk to the cave. There are numerous steps to get down to the cave but they are well maintained and not... More

A visit to this cave is a must if you're holidaying on the north coast. Amazing caves cause by the forces of the sea and rivers.

Amazing to see the effect the sea has on limestone, brilliant for children and adults alike, steep decent but worth the effort and a beautiful cove too.

It is winter it is raining and almost everywhere is closed! Stop in the car park, take the steps down the cliff and you are rewarded with a surprising cave system once the refuge of Vikings. The walk in to the cave is flat and goes as far as a waterfall. Apparently in the summer there is also a boat... More
