Opened by Michael Palin, The Watermill is Winner of the Independent Bookshop of the Year award for the whole UK. Over three floors, the converted mill houses the bookshop, contemporary art gallery and cafe in a unique environment, complete with comfy chairs - a browser's paradise. Next door is our homes and gardens shop, Homer. We are open seven days a week, 10am - 5pm (11am on Sunday).

Really like this place, not the biggest bookshop but they have a really interesting selection and loved browsing; cafe on ground floor has an excellent selection and service, top floor is a gallery; imaginative use of the old building and well worthy of the recognition

We always go to the Watermill when we visit Aberfeldy. We love sitting with a coffee and the newspapers in the cafe area which almost feels like sitting in the garden. We then enjoy browsing the books. We never feel rushed and the staff are...More

The coffee here is to die for . The setting is unique in a converted flour mill that has an excellent bookshop above it. The cakes are delicious with an unique variety a must visit place in Aberfeldy

Apprehensive about curried parsnip soup but one of the BEST soups ever tasted (and I make soup), not unlike a dahl and with GLUTEN FREE oatcakes followed by GLUTEN FREE chocolate and orange cake, moist and delicious! Brilliant find, thanks guys.....

Highly recommended both as a bookshop and cafe (where there are books one an read at the table). So good that we went on several occasions for lunch and to browse.

Hi Graham Thanks for flagging this up (it is something that annoys me too) - I will bring it to the attention of the cafe team. Regards Kevin

The Watermill is in a 200 year-old A-listed building and it wasn't possible to install a lift to the top floor art gallery, although we do have level access to the bookshop and cafe (on separate floors). I will change our... More
