Excellent stop to make. Beautiful grounds and pond with swans. Hour long tour with facts going back to the 17th century.

Thanks for your review. We hope to see some cygnets on the pond very soon. The Brodie family have been here around 800 years, this castle since 1567 so we have lots of stories to tell.

Thanks for the mention, a lovely place to walk at any time, especially tranquil in the early mornings and in the evenings when the birdsong is at its best. Do come back when we're open to experience the castle too.

Our second visit to Brodie Castle. The first time, 13 years ago, we met Clan Chief Brodie of Brodie. This Historic site is one of the most exciting examples of a Tower House that has been occupied by the same family for a few Centuries,...More

Stunning castle steeped in Scottish history. Well worth the tour inside. Amazing library with one of the largest privately owned collections in Scotland. History abounds!!!

Unfortunately closed on a Wednesday, but no indication of this at the entrance off the main road, only a sign outside the door of the building. The castle is in a beautiful setting, in lovely grounds. Just a shame we'll never get to see inside.More

Thanks for your review. There is always something to see in the grounds - new blossom, birds, wildlife and wild flowers. Come again with your girls, you may find new sights and wildlife, if not then the playground never fails!

We managed to arrive just as a tour began and only 6 of us on it. The tour guide Eleanor was very knowledgeable and funny, not like the usual stuffy guides at historic houses. The castle is beautifully presented and there's so much to see,...More

Thanks for the excellent review, delighted to hear you enjoyed both the tour and the lunch. We can't always promise Eleanor will be available but there are lots of other great guides with great personalities!

Every other castle or home open to the public requires you to stay behind ropes just inside door way. Not Brodie Castle. We could walk around every room and look at titles and dates of books, look at paintings up close (there are over 300)....More

Thanks for your review. We try to keep the tours so that the experience is more like visiting Brodie as a home, rather than being restricted by ropes. Though photos are not currently allowed inside, there are lots of spots outdoors for excellent photos. Good...More
