Easy way to kill a couple of hours without spending a fortune with all the family
Oct 2020 • Family
Went here to break up a long journey deeper into Devon. So many historical items to see, with some absolute gems. Whilst current covid restrictions limit all the interactive childrens elements, its still well worth a visit for an hour or two. Nice to see a museum pitch the price just right at £6 an adult and children free.

Wonderful museum - don't miss it!
Mar 2020
We visited Tiverton Museum recently - for the first time in about 30 yrs...
What a marvellous place it is now - after its huge extension & refurb.
What transformation!
Fantastic displays of everything from ancient farm equipment to a giant net-making loom, from the Heathcoat factory.
And, of course standing on the footplate of the Tivvy Bumper steam engine is a wonderful treat! (You can even press a button to hear steam noises - and pull the chain to hear that iconic whistle!)
If you are visiting the area - or haven't visited the museum for a while - I am sure you will find the £5.50 entrance fee very good value - enjoy!!

Thank you very much for your review Martin! We're delighted that you enjoyed the museum so much. The museum underwent major changes 20 years, and we have plans to make further improvements in the next few years. We hope you'll be back to see us again soon (definitely before another 30 years go by!)

Bigger than it appears
Mar 2020
Looked a bit small and thought £5.50 entrance fee a bit steep. However, it keeps on going. After walking around the two floors you then go outside where there's a steam engine in a hall with many other artefacts. Re-thought the fee and reckon it's very good value for money.

Fascinating Visit
Oct 2019
Popped along here thinking we would be in and out in an hour, but ended up spend nearly 3 fascinating hours here.

Covering a range of aspects concerning Devon - and of course Tiverton, there is a massive range of exhibits history and information to be found here, including the famous Tivvy Bumper - the lovely little steam engine.

This is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, check for opening times etc on line.

There are Loos on site, and a small gift shop.
We found the staff here very friendly and helpful on our visit to this cracking little Museum. .
Price is approx. 6.00pp

Ideal for People of all ages!
Oct 2019 • Family
Went with my family, 5 adults & 2 children (under 3). Very reasonable price for entry (children are free) and so much to look at!
There were plenty of things for children to look at and play with and the yard was fabulous! And the train at the end was very enjoyable!

Excellent local museum
Sep 2019
This is a really brilliant local museum, full of all sorts of interesting things. It covers the period from ancient prehistoric times up to the very recent, some items even being still in use today. Exhibits range from tiny pieces of flint to a steam engine that was in service up to the 1970s. An hour didn't do it all justice but that was all the time I had; it will be high 'must' for anyone visiting the Tiverton area.on my list of places to revisit next time I'm in the area and I'd strongly recommend it as a 'must' for anyone visiting the Tiverton area and with a couple of hours to spare.

Lived up to the reviews. Many interesting items and brought back memories of growing up. Very nostalgic . Allow plenty of time to allow you to listen to the interactive phone exhibits.
