Classic Coastline walking
Sep 2021
Did this as part of a longer walking including the SW Coastal Path along both Woolacombe Sands and Croyde bay. Classic coastline walking - you won't be disappointed.

Morte Point - Definitely worth visiting.

This is a lovely spot for walking out to the point and viewing the seals.
Spectacular scenery and thoroughly recommend visiting this location.

A lovely coastal walk.
Aug 2021
Although the path is very undulating it it is worth it for the views across to Woolacombe and Hartland Point as well as Lundy Island. On a cloudless day the sunset is spectacular.

Stunning walk with the kids
Aug 2021 • Family
Absolutely stunning walk that we will be back to complete. My 11 year old and 6 year old loved the good quality geocaches on the walk too. Defo a way to get the kids going and we did 3 hours before realising we might not have time on the car park to carry on. Beautiful views and lovely weather. Can’t wait to come back

A wonderful walk to see the seals
Aug 2021 • Friends
We have just returned from this walk and I struggled to find detailed directions, so here you go.
We started on the Esplanade in Woolacombe walking past the Watersmeet hotel towards Mortehoe using the road. Half way up the hill on the left hand side join the southwest coastal path and follow it to Morte point. Once past the headland we walked towards the lighthouse and found a path leading up the hill inland (wide grassed path) signposted to Mortehoe. Keep going and when you reach the village walk through the car park and follow the path up and over the hill towards a wooded gulley (very steep downhill section). At the bottom turn right and follow the path back to the Watersmeet hotel for your return to Woolacombe. Approximate walk time 3 1/2 hours.
We took it steady, stopping frequently and had lunch watching the seals. It was great to escape the crowds of Woolacombe and experience absolute silence whilst surrounded by nature. A fantastic walk for which we were blessed with beautiful weather. Highly recommend.

Devon delight
Jul 2021
Fantastic walk , stunning views, a joy to watch the seals on the rocks and bobbing up and down in the surf ( I think the term is bottling)
Only issue we had was some people think it’s ok to allow their dog’s to run off leads, not great for the sheep that graze these cliffs . Otherwise a wonderful walk on the beautiful Devon coast.

Lovely walk

This is a lovely, quite easy walk. Glorious views. However there are numerous paths so take care with your navigation, especially on return

A great circular walk from Woolacombe via Morte Point, Mortehoe and back to Woolacombe. Excellent seas views and some short challenging climbs and decents. Topped by great weather!!

Morte Point > Bull Point
Apr 2021 • Family
This walk was a great walk with many options. We went to Morte Point and then too Bull Point seeing seals on the way. We then went beyond Bull Point and came back to Mortehou through a lovely valley. There are lots of hills as you would expect in North Devon but well with the effort

Walking the dog
Oct 2020 • Solo
A wonderful walk with varied approaches. I started at the church Morte Hoe and walked the ridge to the end. Amazing views and very impressive scenery. Loved watching the tidal race at the point. Walked back along the coast path to North Morte Farm. Path destroyed by cattle in places which is a shame and dogs have to stay on leads due to cattle. I would recommend the walk in proper gear.
