Lovely Christmassy shop and very interesting museum pieces all over the place. We watched glass blowing and saw some lovely things being made. There is a huge marble run upstairs the we spent ages watching and another shop upstairs that was full of lovely things to see. The cafe was great with delicious cakes. Everything was bright and happy and... More

My wife and I took a Sunday afternoon trip out to the House of Marbles, specifically to buy Christmas presents. We live locally, and have been on many occasions to view the pottery in their museum ( we collect local pottery ), to use their cafe, and also have bought from their on site glass factory. They make wonderful glass... More

We visited the House of Marbles on our last day of our holiday and were not disappointed. Fabulous gifts, though a little expensive. There were great games to buy that we used to play as children, so brought back lovely memories. We were very impressed with the marble runs which were really fantastic and you could spend hours just watching... More

Interesting seeing all the marbles, plus marble runs and also visited the glass making and pottery museum. They have a large marble making machine which came from America. Watched the men making a table lamp in the glass blowing part from the viewing gallery.

Treated friends to breakfast here - predictably good although how people manage the full-on cooked breakfast is beyond me. For me the reason to go here is the glass side. Try and get there when glass blowing is happening. The gallery is well laid out and the work displayed allowing them to be enjoyed properly. Interesting also to see marbles... More

We went here on a coach trip and I was disappointed to hear a disparaging remark from a member of staff about coach parties as we left, as there were at least 4 coaches in the car park , I doubt their sales figures would be as high without them! But it was an interesting place, lots of information about... More

It was OK to look around but not what I expected. If you are passing then call in as it's free. If I had paid I would have been a bit disappointed. The glass craftsmen were interesting to watch at work. In my view it's more of a gift shop and a place to visit with the family

Although the whole place is based around the shop there is plenty to see and do around the site, which is free. There is a good little pottery museum (the site was once a pottery as the Bovey area used to produce lots of china and still has a clay quarry a few miles down the road). There is also... More
