My wife and I have been fans of the Avoca store in Dublin since our first visit in 2014. This last trip we drove out of our way while driving from Dublin to Kilkenny to visit the mill. We were very impressed with the self guided tour and the beautiful items in the store. This is a great location to get off the beaten tourist trail of the South of Ireland and visit a true treasure of Ireland! If you are interested in bringing home woven gifts as souvenirs, or find yourself driving south from Glendalough, then this stop is a must on any Ireland itinerary!…

Nice little stop after leaving Glendalough. Free, self-guided tour around the factory floor gives you the opportunity to view the weavers and machinery while they work. Interesting to see their creations come to life. They have a decent variety of items for sale in the shop from their woven blankets and scarves to clothing, kitchen and household items. We had lunch in the cafe which was reasonably priced and very tasty. Prices for gorgeous blankets and throws aren’t cheap, but they are what you would expect for quality goods most likely made on site. Really enjoyed our visit. …

The shop is incredibly expensive, however, the cafe is very reasonably priced and the self guided tour is worth doing. Very interesting.

This store is not as busy as the first one we went to so we actually got to look at merchandise with out tripping over others. Got my husband a lovely flat knit jumper that he wears often and always comments how warm with out being hot. The whickey marmalade got eaten as soon as we got home. I still prefer shopping in Bunratty at the Blarney Mills store as I think prices are better…
