Nice view

Great valley/mountain views from this spot, also known as Miner's Cross (in memory of miners). Location (not very well signposted) is off main road so would recommend as a family friendly uphill walk, there is a fenced space with few benches at cross too. Another local attraction - The Mottee Stone is in walk distance from the cross.

Lovely view of the vale

Google Maps is best option. Also known as Miner's Cross.

You can drive up the passage but its tight to turn at the actual cross/vantage point and bumpy.

The walk from the road (there is a sign for the cross nailed to a tree) will take about 10 minutes slightly uphill.

Amazing View

Not very well signposted so it was difficult to find. However, it is totally worth visiting this site for the amazing views of the valley and the Wicklow Mountains. The peace and the serenity up here was second to none, it's a must visit if you are ever in the Avoca area.

The area is very well maintained, so kudos to whomever is looking after the spot.

Interesting to read poem on the Miners who lost their lives

An easy walk. Start from the meeting of the waters, walk out towards Avoca , take a left over first little bridge go under railway bridge and start a gentle climb after about 30 minutes you reach the cross. Lovely views over the valley where long abandoned mining works can be seen. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of the Red Kite which has been reintroduced to this part of Wicklow.

Group visit by CRRG Dublin motorcycle touring group

Difficult to find. No signposts so Google Maps came in very handy. Laneway up to the Miners' Cross memorial is just a track and not suitable for big touring motorcycles especially if wet. But worth a 10 minute walk up the laneway to the top and the viewing point at the Cross. Magnificent views. Bring your cameras!

Amazing Scenery

This viewing point is well worth a visit. It can be hard to find but we were part of a Guided Tour that walks right by the cross. The tour leaves from The Meetings of the Waters and is a must when visiting the area, Avoca Walking Tours.

Hard to "get at" if you are not a local. My wife and I visited and while we were given good directions if is very disconcerting to suddenly be driving up a road which can only accomodate one car and there are weeds growing in the middle of that road! Having said that, this is well worth a visit. Great views and you pass an old mill where a lot of the men who died had worked. I didn't realise there was so much mining in this area. Definately give it visit.
