- IrelandK37 contributionsBitterly disappointedWe visited today for the first time since covid and were amazed the price had gone from €8 to €24. The house was closed, the cafe was closed, the craft shops were closed, there were some animals still there, but not many, the falconry was gone. Some of the playground things were gone too. We did a quick walk and while the sculptures are impressive many are several years old, growing mushrooms and rotting. We spoke to the lady at the entrance, the only person on the grounds, and expressed our disappointment at having to pay full price when nothing was open, but she was unable/unwilling to offer discounts/refunds. We suggested an off-peak price was probably appropriate when everything was closed except the walking trails. Having previously been annual pass holders we were bitterly disappointed, we won't be back again and we certainly won't be recommending Wells House to friends/family/tourists. Such a shame as we had enjoyed previous visits so much, and found the previous €8 car park fee appropriate.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 29 December 2022
- Patricia CWicklow, Ireland4 contributionsRip offMet my sister and her her family for a walk I felt it was a complete rip off to be charged full price in and no coffee shop open so we couldn't even get a cup of coffee. We weren't told this when we paid in. Won't be back very expensive for a walk.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 February 2023
- jesst_ryanWicklow, Ireland60 contributionsToo expensive for what it is.We used to love going to Wells House for a walk and didn't mind paying the €8 or €9 for the car, but since covid they are now charging per person which is a complete rip off. We went with two kids, so €24........to go for a walk, playground and to see a few animals(which I feel aren't kept in the best condition and don't really need to be in a place like Wells House). I don't know how they justify the price, it's crazy. There are plenty of walks with fairy doors to go to for free and lots of beautiful walks for free or a carpark charge like Avondale. I would only recommend one visit here if you are really curious otherwise I'd say give it a miss and go somewhere else.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 May 2023
- sharon b2 contributionsRip off ireland!Total waste of money. Up until a couple of years ago, you paid a nominal amount of possible 2 or 5 euros at the barrier on the way out. Today, we paid i think 8 or 9 euros each for 3 adults plus a teen which was same price. This entitles you to ...... nothing ...... you get to walk around their gardens, the falconry is gone gone gone. No entry into the house is included with this. Total rip off. Won't be visiting wells house again .Visited July 2023Written 16 July 2023

I Paid 27 euros for three tickets to Wells HOUSE and gardens, it should be Wells Gardens as the house wasn’t open. - KenDublin, Ireland5 contributionsBitterly disappointedWe as a family loved coming here over the last 8 or 9 years but l’m afraid it’s not going to happen anymore. It used to be €10 for a car but now it’s €24 for a family…..we paid only because we thought there must be something added to the experience, in truth, the place had been going downhill a bit lately, the lovely little craft shops were gone as was the animal experience for the kids, there’s a minimal effort animal area there now, the archery is gone but now unfortunately there was nothing…..it’s a total rip off, they really should be ashamed of themselves, maybe they are as there are no admission charges shown on the way in. It is with sadness that we say we won’t be going back as we have some great memories of here but there are much better places nearby for reasonable and realistic rates.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 July 2023

The children's playground is good with nice seating area for picnics. The entry price is a bit high for what it is but ok. The cafe however is probably the worst cafe we have ever visited. Do not go and do not waste your money on the food.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 August 2023
- sarah wDublin, Ireland4 contributionsDisappointingHouse tour not included in price. Entry covers walk in the garden (walled garden closed) and use of a playground. Grounds are lovely but not worth the price of entry for a family of 5. Coffee shop very disappointing, very poor quality pizzas which kids didn’t like and toasted sandwiches were dry. A lot of potential as the animal area, while small, was nice and animal seems well cared for.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 August 2023

This was a complete rip off .. paid for tickets for a Halloween experience and when we got there we were stopped at the gate to pay an additional "gate charge" of 8 euro per person in the car even the kids were counted!!! Please if u cam at all boycot this place and the experience wasn't great after that we had a train ride that went around in a circle 2 times very short then went to a pumpkin patch that was tiny and absolutely wrecked ... over all stay away they are money hungry 💯 😒

Myself and 15 other ladies from our club in Swords co dublin came here for a day trip to Wells Gardens and house. We had a lovely visit and were escorted around the beautiful house by the very informative Aileen who was very attentive to us all. After our tour Aileen very kindly brought us to a lovely tea room of which they had specially opened for us as the season is now finished and we had a selection of lovely drinks and delicious warm scones and cream and jam(yum yum),also a lovely selection of fresh cakes. We then took a walk in the walled gardens which was beautiful. We would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely house and gardens if you are around the wexford area. Again a huge thank you to the wonderful Aileen.

Check the website I did see people walking along tracks with dogs but I don’t think they were on the house grounds as they have peacocks roaming with their babies

How much dos it cost? Is it suitable for family's with autistic children - is ther a lot of cuing and noise? Is there picnic places where you can have lunch with toilet's. ?”

Cost is €8 per car.
No queueing.
Very little noise. Outdoor walks in wooded land with plenty to look for.
Toilets at entrance to the house - have always been clean when I visited.
Plenty of picnic tables, and also loads of open space where visitors could spread a picnic blanket.

We were with you in Jan and loved our afternoon. We planned to come back when the garden had woken especially the rhododendron trees. Are we too late to see them blooming if we visit this Sat? Regards Triona

Parking is at a distance from the house , so I got my husband to drop me at the front of the house before he parked . Paths can be a little uneven but it's reasonably ok
Can you bring in your own food & drink??

Yes, we picnicked in the grounds so we didnt have to leave our dog in the car too long by going to the cafe.
