- JoanneIreland74 contributionsA lovely place to visit if interest in Horses/HistoryHorse mad teenager had been wanting to visit so having a Staycation, it was the perfect opportunity. It was a lovely way to spend an hour and a half. A history video of the area starts off the visit (although I did struggle with the sound quality). Due to Covid only one family at a time can view this, which was very reassuring. There are two floors of interactive displays and a skeleton of a horse. Daughter found it all very interesting. Staff were lovely and the young man gave some excellent information. We then had a coffee and ice-cream in Fethard. A lovely small clean town with a friendly community.Thank you for your positive review. We are delighted to hear you all enjoyed your experience. I'd like to apologize for your experience with the sound quality of the welcome video. We have taken a number of queries regarding this and have discovered a technical glitch between the speakers and the projector which meant the tones were unbalanced. We have now rectified this situation. If you are passing again please drop in and watch the video again. Enjoy the rest of your summer. The recent renovation of the old town hall to house the Horse Country Experience is terrific on two levels: it gives architecture and history buffs a close up look at an amazing building along with an excellent overview of the Tipperary horse culture in the museum within. Handy access out the back to the Holy Trinity Church, churchyard, and an excellent portion of the medieval town walls out the back.

I went out to Fethard Museum with my friend and we did the tour. The staff were very helpful especially Liam. We then drove to Coolmore Stud for the outdoor tour. The guide that day was Jack and he knew everything about horses and races and dates and was brilliant as a tour guide. The group were all ears to what he was saying and he made the afternoon very enjoyable. A great day out for anyone living near or abroad.

Could you please give a list of the stud horses that will be available to view at the Coolmore Stud this July ?.

Hi Alan, Thank you for your interest in the Fethard Horse Country Experience. My apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I've spoken to our tour guide at Coolmore and according to him the following stallions are staying in Fethard this year: Australia, Camelot, Caravaggio, Galileo, Gleneagles, The Ghurka and Zoffany.
Please be aware that unfortunately we can never guarantee you will see particular stallions on the day. Coolmore is, of course, a working stud farm and so stallions may be absent from their stable or paddock for a variety of reasons. Nonetheless, you will certainly see some stallions on your tour! Please get in touch if you have any other questions or if you'd like to book a tour with us.
Kind regards,
Laura
