Our third trip to The Devils Menu was a full day experience. Working with John and working through a plethora of new dishes. Prior to the session we had a call with John so he could get an understanding of what we wanted to learn and work on and then planned a comprehensive menu based around this. The fun didn't stop all day and it was a fantastic experience to learn from very talented chef. The ever present Hazel was there to to make sure that John was kept on track. Thanks to you both, a great day and we have already tried a. Couple of the dishes at home. Can't recommend highly enough.

I have booked a private cooking lesson with Joan as an " activity" to do with my boyfriend for his bday. Well, John and Hazel have the amazing gift to be able to transform an " activity" to an " experience"!

One of the best day we had together with my boyfriend. Definitely great craic and definitely have learned a lot about food and about this wonderful couple. Well done guys! Can't wait to visit you again!

The Devils menu is a hidden gem in Graiguenamangh. The food is Michelin Star, lovely atmosphere John and Elora amazing hosts its something different from your usual dining out. I have been here three times already and have been totally satisfied on all trips. The food is amazing try pork belly with the chilli sauer kraut just fab. I would never order some of the foods I have eaten here but John adds his own twist and turns every dish out to be delicious. I cant wait till I go again with my friends.

We visited the Cauldron Cottage in February. We were the first American guests. As it was not tourist season and it was the middle of the week, there were no other paying guests that evening. Not to worry, John and Elora made us feel so welcome in their newly renovated cottage and chef's kitchen. They invited some local friends and we had a lovely evening, eating the delicious Irish and Spanish inspired dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious and our evening exceeded all expectations, with the local hospitality being the absolute high point. We highly recommend!

John is an extremely charming and accommodating man. We were spending a weekend in Kilkenny for my mother's birthday so we found the Devil's Menu online. He was accommodating the dietary needs and took a real interest in teaching us about the food he was cooking. He also showed us how to forage for wild garlic before hand and used it in the food we made! He also takes photos of us as we cook and eat and sends them on with the recipes after. We had a great afternoon and John has a real knack for telling anecdotes about his days in 5 star restaurants and his passion for good food is genuine. This man deserves your business!!!

The Devils Menu is a hidden treasure of Ireland. Graiguenamanagh is famous for its scenery, Duiske Abbey and the river Barrow but a NEW Exceptional dining experience can be added to the list of Kilkenny treasures. John and Elora cook and serve the MOST wonderful food and keep you entertained, while so doing. 8 of us were there last night and to say we were "blown away" is putting it mildly. Highly recommended, exceptional value for money. We will be back!!

We were staying in Graiguemanagh for a week, we told Andrea our host that we liked to eat out. She suggested the Devils Menu. Is it a restaurant? No. Oh, is it a hotel? No. I think you’ll love it, John is very funny and Elora is lovely, look at the website! We looked, we still didn’t know what it was. We did figure out that there was food, a very experienced chef and the pictures seemed to suggest a lively atmosphere. We decided to ring John, what could go wrong? Well... nothing went wrong and we are very happy we rang. I will try to explain how it works or how it worked the night we were there, because there’s lots of versions of a night at the Devil’s Menu. You can have a cookery class, a cookery demonstration, or just enjoy eating the food which is cooked right in front of you and but all the time you are entertained by John and Elora. We happened on a party night. There’s usually a waiting list to get in but we were lucky, guests Liam and Kate had convened a party for their four friends and they were gracious enough to welcome us along. We arrived at 7pm to John making yeast bread while regaling us with stories. This man can cook and talk. While his partner Elora settled us in and added her own stories we felt like long lost friends in their kitchen. They made us feel welcome, made us laugh and fed us amazing food. Definitely recommended! Ring up and get into anything they are running because I don’t think they have a bad night.

Thank you very much indeed. We really enjoyed your company and participation in the nights events. An unexpected bonus to your time spent in Graiguenamanagh. It was a very lovely menu that evening not the run of the mill food seen in many other places. We hope you will come see again in the future. The Devil's menu is local to me and I've been following them on Facebook for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and go on their themed "paella night". What an evening at Cauldron Cottage! We received a very friendly greeting from John (the chef) and Elora (his Spanish partner). Indeed their friendliness and interaction are a key part of the dining experience here. Using an authentic Spanish recipe handed down through Elora's family, John crafted the most exquisite paella I had ever eaten right in front of our eyes, explaining the source of the ingredients (local top quality sea-fresh fish and squid, Spanish saffron, Italian rice) and the cooking steps. I've eaten paella in many parts of Spain and I would rate this along with the best from Valencia and Albufera. To accompany, delicious sour dough bread was also cooked as we watched and talked with John and the other guests. Bring your own wine. I'll be watching out for other themed evenings and I look forward to many visits to The Devil's Menu now this unique dining experience is on my doorstep.

Had the tremendous good fortune to have a business meeting with John of Devils menu and got invited for lunch. From the moment you arrive at their home you are in love; with the breathtaking setting in Graiguenamanagh, the warm and genuine welcome, the ease, style and comfort of their home, and the good old fashioned generosity of John and Elora, And all of that you have experienced before you even taste a morsel of the Devils Menu! Oh my what mouthwatering temptation......a total treat for every taste bud you possess. Simple but treasured locally sourced ingredients, treated and cared for in a loving and masterful way to arrive on your plate in a feast of flavour.....It reawakens tastes and memories of how food used to taste, Please just do yourself a favour....dont let another weekend pass without checking out Devils Menu.....Bring your friends, your sisters, your neighbours, or your loved ones......I promise you will not be disappointed.
