We rented a BMW 1200 GS from Celtic Rider last summer and would give more stars if possible. We've rented bikes before overseas but this experience is above and beyond all others!!
I highly recommend taking the "training course" for any level rider. Paul gave loads of information about riding in Ireland, from "basic ride left, look right" to dealing with narrow roads, sheep, and hedgerows. My husband is a very experienced rider and he agreed it was very helpful. Paul even took us out on the road to reinforce the video.
If you're up near Ballycastle be sure and check out The Salthouse Hotel!

Brilliant customer service and cast iron product guarantee. I purchased the amazing Klim badlands suit from Celtic rider 3 years ago. Recently the pants developed a slight leak in torrential rain. Paul and Louise Rawlins took these trousers back without quibble and, sent em off for repair AND provided me with a replacement in the meantime. A few weeks later LOUISE rang me and said "I have your trousers and you can collect them anytime". Imagine my surprise when I rocked up and she presented me with a brand new Klim Badlands trousers.. I can't say how impressed I am still. This is the best clothing I've ever invested in and the warranty completely justifies the premium price. . With back up after sales commitment like this I couldn't recommend any other companies products.. KLIM all the way . Thank you celtic rider #Klim ireland

This trip was a bucket list item for my brother and I. We always wanted to rent motorcycles and ride across Ireland. I had always dreamt of riding a Harley across Ireland, this dream came true! The amount of care Celtic Rider takes with every part of the company. The tour that they set up was spectacular to say the least! The daily routes seemed short but it was an excellent pace with all the stops they suggested along the way. The accommodations were amazing at the end of the day. The care that the company took to make sure we were comfortable and safe was refreshing, we were the second group out for the season and we had some rain, hail, wind etc but they always were checking weather and checking on us. the Klim riding equipment they offered was excellent and kept us dry and warm. The historic sites they suggested were incredible paired with the perfect motorcycle roads. The daily GPS centered routes kept us away from tourist traps and traffic, while showing us deep history of Ireland. My brother rode a GS I rode a Harley and consider myself a Harley snob. With the routes offered as well as the motorcycle the next adventure I feel I would NOT ride a Harley because it is not necessary. This trip was a great opportunity to have an incredible adventure with my brother with an incredible company. I can not say enough about this company.

We booked a 14 day motorcycle tour for 2 couples of The Isle of Man, Northern England and Scotland with Paul Rawlings of Celtic Rider Motorcycle Rentals. Paul provided two excellent BMW R1250 GS motorcycles, a GPS with daily route options, reservations at 4 & 5 Star accommodations in 11 cities along the routes and 3 ferry reservation. We love having the flexibility this type of self guided tour offers. Everyone at Celtic Rider were very helpful and ensured we had a wonderful experience. This was the 2nd time we used Celtic Rider and once again we’re delighted with the services they provide. We highly recommend Celtic Rider to our friends.

Where do I begin-Celtic Rider is such a fantastic company to hire from, to tour the beautiful country of Ireland, with also options to tour areas of the UK. This is the second time I’ve rented from them and it’s been nothing but wonderful. Everything from the pickup from the hotel to go to Celtic Rider, to the things that need to be done prior to leaving on your ride, the amazing trip, and back to Celtic Rider at the end. Paul and his family and crew make sure that they do everything they can to make your experience go smoothly and safely. The routes that are chosen that are in the gps and the accommodations chosen are top rate.
I was told that I was the first woman to tour Ireland on a CanAm Spyder F3 and I had NO hesitation touring Solo, especially on one of their motorcycles! The Spyder was fantastic, safe, and super fun! Never thought I’d ride one of those but definitely worth it. And plan to do it again in the next couple years.
Touring Ireland on a motorcycle is such an amazing adventure, and cannot recommend Celtic Rider highly enough!!

First off, if you are considering a motorcycle riding adventure in Ireland, just do it. Ireland will exceed your expectations, mine certainly were. There truly are some magical places, and Paul at Celtic Rider will make sure you get to see and experience them, he knows where are all the good stuff is. Also, make sure you book as much time as you can afford to, there is so much to see and do. After 11 days and around 3000kms on the bike, the wife and I felt there was so much more to experience.
After riding through most of North America, coast to coast in both Canada and the USA, I can honestly say that it is nothing like riding in Ireland. If you want endless stretches of highway through vast plains, Ireland is not for you. However, if you want tight mountain roads the seem to go on forever, very little traffic, and coastal views that will take your breath away, Ireland is the place to be. It seemed that every turn in the road produced a new postcard-picture-perfect vista. You will need plenty of time to stop, take pictures and enjoy the beauty.
So what is the riding really like? If you expect to ride fast and make big miles every day, you will be disappointed, it simply is not possible. The good roads are very narrow, tight, and visibility is very limited. The roads have no shoulders, and are often bordered with rock walls or very tall hedgerows. Add the fact that you can encounter anything on the road at any time, tractors, huge trucks, people walking, cows and sheep, lots and lots of sheep, you simply have to ride carefully at all times. Throw in the riding on the left side of road, roundabouts, tight switchbacks and you have to remain alert. What this does reward you with is an experience like no other. Its not about big miles, its about big smiles.
After you get off the bike for the day, Paul has provided excellent accommodations, where you can enjoy the Irish hospitality in the town you are staying in. Its very nice to spend two days at each location. The second day you can travel light after leaving your gear back at the room and you don't have the fuss of packing up every night. Make sure to enjoy the food at a good restaurant or pub. The sheep and cows in Ireland are given the best costal views, are very happy, and it shows in the quality of the food served. And is goes without saying, the seafood is the best you can get as well. Also, check out the beaches, they are amazing.
Paul proved us with a very fresh BMW 1250GS which was the perfect bike for the trip. It performed flawless as we followed the days route on the GPS. Overall, it simply is the experience of a lifetime to savior the beauty of the Irish countryside, coastlines and the friendly people.

My wife's bucket list trip was to Ireland. I always dismissed it, but finally agreed, on the contingency that we visit the country on a motorcycle. After researching various companies, and speaking with Paul from Celtic Rider, I realized this is the place we should rent from. He was so attentive and helpful to us, especially since this would be our first time visiting a foreign country. He was in constant contact via email and phone, making recommendations, and giving advice on what was happening in the country. Especially helpfull during Covid time.
Upon arrival, he gave us clear directions for the bus from the airport and personally picked us up from the bus stop to transport us to Celtic Rider. He then fixed us lunch!
Upon outfitting both my wife and I with helmets and riding gear, he also had a GPS Garmin that he had programmed in all of the places of interest that we would want to visit while we were there. This was an immense help! We would have been lost without the Garmin. Our cell phones did not work there so this was our only GPS.
We were given a BMW 1250GS which was absolutely perfect for our trip.
After our 8 day ride, he gave us a ride back to the bus stop so we could carry on to Dublin.
Paul and Liam were absolutely amazing in every aspect. Would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to see Ireland on a motorcycle.

Let me start by saying I have been riding motorcycles for more than forty four year. From two stroke three cylinders to four stroke six cylinders.
I have done many (ten I think) tours with Paul and his crew and all have been fun and exciting. Have had some fantastic weather and some not so fantastic,
that’s Ireland for you. I recentally sold my 2018 Goldwing Tour due to a re accuring left knee injury. I had booked a vacation in Ireland and contacted Paul at Celtic rider
to see if he had a smaller machine with less weight as the BMW GS1200s would be problematic for my knee which was improving.
Paul gets back to me with the words “CAN AM” I google it and let him know I have never ridden one but I was willing to give it a go. Ten minutes after leaving the rental
station I was in love. Semi automatic gear box extremely comfortable seat and tons of storage space. I drove for hours non stop with no butt issues. Driving through the small
towns was a treat as you never have to put your feet down, in fact you can take both hands off the bars while stopped at lights and stretch back. The other thing I really loved
was I lost all concern for gravel on the roads and in the parking areas. Really liked that and the same when I came across wet roads no issues at all.
Don’t get me started on the reverse, which was so handy coming out of parking spaces or making tight u turns on narrow road’s, just brilliant.
In a nutshell, easy to get on and off, comfy seat even compared to the Goldwing, loads of storage, reverse, digital easy to read dash, semi auto gearbox. And mostly a very secure, safe ride.
On the downside! As nothing is perfect in this world. They attract a lot of attention as they are so cool looking, people want to ask about them and have a closer look.
It didn’t bother me at all, in fact I met some lovely people and had some great chats in parking lots.
See you next June Paul, sending a deposit soon! A huge thanks to you and your team for pointing me towards the “CAN AM”

This has truly been an incredible lifetime experience, and dream come true. My husband and I tour around our home country and I thought what a great way to see another. Our 30 year anniversary seemed like as good excuse as any so I started planning 12 months prior. We wanted to see both Ireland and Scotland so booked the 21 day self guided tour which took us through the most spectacular scenery and stunning narrow country roads.
Paul organised everything so we didn’t have to worry about a thing!! We arrived the day prior to get introduced, check the bike and ensure everything was right to go. Paul and Liam welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, Gobsmacked right there ready was a brand new BMW 1250 set up ready with panniers fitted, Garmin pre programmed with tour and favourites to see, then sized up with the latest new Klim riding gear. A cuppa and treat whilst we watched the short but very informative safety video footage.
Paul has certainly looked after us extremely well going the extra mile in taking us for a guided tour around the spectacular Wicklow Mountains as a prelude so we could get familiar with the roads and bike coming to Ireland from Australia we weren’t sure how different it may be. We had such a special memorial afternoon filled with local history, stunning views, tales and laughter and a delicious home made Irish stew shared with Paul and his family on our return. A magical atmosphere of authentic Irish hospitality that was so beautiful and never forgotten.
Next day we set on our 21 day adventure with everything done for us, the accommodation was amazing we felt like royals, every stop we met some wonderful local people who made us feel so welcomed. So many interested in our journey and inviting us into their lives. The memories made are priceless and so precious, they will stay with us forever.
We can’t commend Celtic Riders enough for what they did to make this trip happen.
We Thank you again Paul, your lovely family and Liam for taking great care of us, we are so fortunate that we can live this dream together with such a wonderful extended family.
Best wishes

Great routes, we'll organized, gave us a chance to explore a lot in 14 days. The hotels had good localization.
We rented a Spyder, which got a lot of attention during the ride, which was fun.
I would recommend the self- guided tour and if you have more time, a longer one would be ideal.
