About
We have been making unique porcelain and stoneware in Roundstone since 1981. Rosemarie O'Toole decorates porcelain thrown by her husband Seamus Laffan. She also makes an extensive range of porcelain jewellery. Her artwork on paper is available framed and unframed. A wide range of durable handmade tiles decorated by Rosemarie is on offer & we can design plaques for house names or business use. We also make a wide range of distinctive domestic stoneware and are happy to take on orders for same. Our work is available exclusively from our studio, opening daily 10-6. Off season please ring to confirm but we are there most days. It should not be confused with the imported industrial ware sold as ' Roundstone Pottery ' throughout the country since 2011, which has no connection with us or this village.

No visit to Roundstone is complete without a trip to Roundstone Ceramics. We love the products created here. Each time we go, we bring back something else a little bit special.

Seamus and Rosemary are gracious artists and willing to share the processes of their work. Being able to see the work, hear of the process and browse with no pressure or sense of obligation is wonderful. It is no surprise that the two have an international reputation. We have purchased everything from jewellery and bud vases, to egg cups, coffee cups and oil burners.

Can't wait for our next visit to pick up something else lovely. Highly recommend a stop off. The feel of the products is gorgeous but sipping a hot cup of Irish tea from one, especially brings back your memories of holidays in Roundstone, no matter where in the world you are.

You'll find them, down in the Monastery Commercial Centre, at the top of the village.

A lovely studio run by a talented, engaging and delightful couple. We immediately fell in love with their well constructed beautiful and functional pottery. Don't miss a visit for a good chat (although do not expect a contrived welcome, the chats just come naturally, as it would visiting artists in their studio) and to admire their craftsmanship, and if you want to take a piece of Roundstone magic home with you, look no further!

In addition to the pieces below, we also purchased another mug and a set of 4 bowls and stunning tea cups as gifts but neglected to take photos before shipping. It was well worth waiting to find the right gift made by special hands.

Visited here to buy a gift, Seamus and Ross are so helpful and everything is handmade there - so many beautiful pieces to choice from. I left with a beautiful lamp that was made by Seamus and painted by Ross. The receiver of the gift loved it. Thank you. Totally recommend this place as a place to buy some real beautiful pottery pieces .

We recently phoned Seamus the Potter and asked him to send us 2 teacups. They were beautifully decorated by Rose and made excellent gifts. Much appreciated by the recepients.

After seeing the beautiful pieces used to serve us at our bed and breakfast, we were told to venture to Roundstone Ceramics for a peek at the other work produced there. Upon arriving first thing in the morning, owners and artists Rosemarie and Seamus were already at work. My mother and I spent about an hour perusing the shop, and discussing at length about our travels and other topics with this truly lovely couple. Though we could not take back big pieces (such as the many stunning lamps), we acquired delicately painted jewelry for ourselves and friends, as well as a few small vases and animals to remind us of this beautiful shop.

Parking is plentiful and nearby. The shop is just through the archway and on the right.

Don't be afraid that they aren't open, the doorway looks dim, but if the door is open, go on in! You will be delighted in the beautiful work they do, and the personal touches each piece has.

Rosemarie took the time to carefully wrap our purchases with bubble and tissue, and I'm happy to say all made it back to the states (and three security checkpoints) without breaking!

Stopped by the workshop, on the grounds of an ancient monastery, during a bike tour last week. Spent 10-15 minutes chatting with Seamus, a delightful guy and very gracious with his time and knowledge. Stunning, imaginatively Irish-themed work on display and for sale. Bought a couple of pieces as gifts for my wife, which she loves.

This is a tiny place, where you can see the potters at work at the wheel and painting the pottery by hand. The hand painted porcelain pieces are works of art!

Overall it is an OK shop and like all of Ireland staffed with friendly people. Would say the product quality is in the mid range, and the prices are fair. We are kind of in the upper range of ceramic collecting, so I just gave it a medium rating, but others may not see it that way. Worth a stop and look.
