Learn To Shoot or Improve Your Skills at Shotgun Shooting or Rifle and Air Rifle. Whether an absolute beginner or an experienced shot, we've been teaching clients for many years. It is important to stress that we have a broad range of firearms, some which are very light with minimum recoil and highly suitable for ladies or young persons to shoot safely with. Shane was originally trained by Holland & Holland of London and Werner is an ex Bisley Coach. We can supply you with all necessary equipment and can teach individuals or small groups. We are Government Approved by the Garda Siochana and fully insured. Shane also trains in Safety Courses necessary for first time applicants for Shotgun and Rifle Licences.

Not an enjoyable experience being belittled and rediculed by a very snooty instructor (whom you are paying handsomely). Be warned Shane does not cater well for novice shooters.While i'm sure he is an excellent technical instructor, I would give this one a miss if you are looking for a fun experience. After 2hrs we shot a mere single pack of 24 cartridges,so not very good value. It truly was an unforgettable experience for the wrong reasons. Thankfully Ballynahinch castle was lovely, along with the hotel and management staff.

We had the time of my life learning to shoot with Shane. Shane is an excellent instructor, he was able to go into detail of how to position the shotgun, how to aim and the technique to use. When handling firearms be respectful as Shane sourced them himself, they are expensive and dangerous if handled incorrectly so the bad reviews is a reflection of the clients rather than the instructor. A two hour session of conversing and understanding will have you at an Olympic standard to shoot with Shane guiding you. Well worth the money, an unforgettable experience and would definitely go back for another lesson or two.

We had a fabulous experience with Shane, the owner and instructor. We went as a family of 7 complete novices. Shane easily helped my daughter and daughter-in-law overcome their initial trepidation about firing a shotgun and quickly got them hitting the clay pigeon targets. He got the rest of us hitting the clay pigeons, most on our first shot due to his excellent instruction. Beautiful location at his home with a shooting shed that allows you to enjoy even in the rain we had that day. He teaches masters but is also kind and patient with novices like us. Highly recommend for a very fun activity in a beautiful part of Ireland!

I have been shooting for almost 20 years and I have never had a shooting lesson before. I found Shane to be very genuine in looking for ways to improve my technique. He broke everything down to basics, down to the simple methodology of a good shot. We concentrated on this. We had good fun and he was not afraid to chastise me on my gun maintenance and care - he was right too! He shared his knowledge about every aspect of shooting and I came away with a better understanding of why I was missing shots as well as vowing to take better care of my gun. I highly recommend taking a shooting lesson with Shane. I am delighted I did and hope to plan another sometime in the future. Thank you. Tom Flanagan.

Shane was such a lovely man - the perfect instructor. We were 2 first time shooters and he taught us the basics about safety, holding a gun, and proper firing technique. I was delighted to hit a few targets. His feedback, instruction and care were second to none. Could not give any higher praise and would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Thank you Shane!

Both myself and my wife have been shooting with Shane a number of times. On our most recent visit we booked back to back lessons (2 days in a row)...which is testament to how much we enjoy (and appreciate) his tuition.
Shane is an excellent instructor, his knowledge and expertise is unparalleled. If you're a novice or a professional, you will get so much from your lesson...

Very strange and disappointing experience overall
While Shane was quirky and eccentric, it doesn't explain how rude, defensive, condensing and arrogant he was at times
Shane was chastising people for things they couldn't know and singling people out and belittling them in front of everyone. The level of arrogance was off the charts.
At one point , he slapped one of the group on the hand for clarifying his understanding on something. Totally unacceptable.
The business isn't set up for groups- education method or facilities. There is alot of standing around ....
Pics on trip advisor are nothing like the set up

These gentlemen were most welcome at my shooting grounds until they displayed the most extraordinary lack of care for both my shotguns and themselves. It is my duty to protect people when they are learning to shoot, if they prove to be dangerous to each other, it is inherent on me to prevent accidents from happening. I have been teaching in many countries for 47 years and have never had an accident. This gentleman may not like being told he has acted in a dangerous manner but there was no accident that day and therefore I would ask him to reflect on my reasons for curtailing dangerous behaviour.

This was an incredible experience start to finish. We had a couple experienced shooters, and me who it was my second time shooting. Every one of us left saying how much better we are at shooting. It’s not basic, it’s experience shared by a true professional who makes it easy to understand and visualize. Experience of a lifetime and we highly recommend the master class!

Would highly recommend a visit to Shane. He is an extremely skilled instructor and we had the best day. This was my first time clay pigeon shooting and I feel addicted already. The amount of knowledge he taught us in one day is incredible. Can not recommend this enough and can not wait to return! Thank you Shane for starting me on this new journey. Visit him!!

An absolute brilliant day to be had. Shane is a pure gentleman and a excellent instructor that has so much experience, patience and wisdom to help you.
