We were holidaying in the area and as a relative new comer to shooting I took up the opportunity of a couple of coaching sessions with Shane along with my 15 year old son. I leave Ireland with much greater confidence in my shooting and...More

Those are wise words Kevin. It is true that I try to inform my client and place emphasis on the information that must be used when actually in the process of shooting a target. To ensure people understand the importance of judgement and the frequency...More

Staying on holiday in Connemara, we took the opportunity to give our 14 year old son the chance to experience his first clay pigeon shooting. Shane took the utmost care and taught our son how to handle a shotgun and myself a few things as...More

You will both or should I say all three of you, be most welcome at any time in the future. It was a very special moment, at the age of fourteen, when my mother took me to visit Lord Bellew at Barmeath Castle. A life...More

My partner Andrew booked Shane as a surprise for me as I’ve always wanted to shoot a gun. Although it was pouring rain and I thought we’d have to cancel Shane assured us we’d have a wonderful experience.... and we did. We met Shane and...More

What a really lovely review! You're both very kind and your words very welcome. It is a sad reflection on the persons supplying guns for ladies and younger persons to shoot that they have no alternative to offer. All too often those who may have...More

I decided to take the classes with Shane after hearing about him from a friend. All the great things I heard about him came short to the real thing. I arrived to the classes with 4 teenagers and Shane didn’t just manage to keep all...More

My my!! Its very hard to reply to the above. Four teenagers, their father and mother. That all sounds fairly ordinary so far. Well these people were far from ordinary. From one of my favourite countries in the world, Mexico, they stood and listened to...More

I was filled with anticipation as we waited for Shane by the fire in the beautiful lobby of the castle. I had shot before, but was with a first-timer. I didn't know what to expect. Shane met us with his loving dog Molly and drove...More

You are a delightful couple! Why on earth wouldn't I be happy to spend time with you both? We were fortunate that I had no lesson booked after yours and could replenish the nether regions with a little more coffee. I do hope you thoroughly...More

We (I and two sons) opted for lessons and shooting with Shane Bisgood, the proprietor and his black lab Mollie. Shane is a unique mixture of old world charm, semi-military bearing, insightful teacher, and mischievous man. Mollie is an excellent retriever. We not only thoroughly...More

It is hard not to to feel a thrill when you realise that there is another review on one's page. Your comments are most kind, I would be flattered to think that they are all as good as you make them seem. It's rather wonderful...More

Ballynahinch Castle Hotel is a wonderful location and Shane Bisgood is an excellent and patient shooting instructor. I had not shot in quite a while, but hit about three-quarters of the clays launched from a nearby tower. A memorable lesson!More

We spent an afternoon learning the method required to successfully shoot clays. All four of us hit the clays. I highly recommend this activity for all levels of skill set. You won't be disappointed.
