Stories & Laughter Around the Fire at Biddy’s Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Biddy’s Cottage. On arrival, to her beautiful home, (a meticulous replica of an Irish country cottage) we were treated to cocktails with a delicious homemade, elderflower syrup, in front of an open fire. It was truly a memorable evening, with memorabilia, stories, and so much laughter. A great experience, with a fascinating host

    A gem in Dalkey!
An evening at Biddy’s cottage was pure joy! Biddy tells a tale like no other, I can see where her writing skills come from. Six of us Dubliners invaded her beautiful quaint cottage in Dalkey, some of us were locals so it was a special treat to find this unique experience right on our doorstep. We were a bit rowdy so Biddy got the bell out to shush us up so she could do the talking. Perhaps it was the gin and elderflower (with a sprig of rosemary) which slipped down way too easily or maybe that we were made to feel so at home from the time we arrived. Biddy only puts on these storytelling events on occasions and she doesn’t advertise which makes a visit here even more special. You can buy her artwork which is on display but don’t leave without purchasing her book ‘Behind the Half Door’ which she put together with gorgeous recipes, including the scrumptious oat cakes she served with tea at the end of our visit (approx 2 hours long). It’s a lovely keepsake from a fantastic experience which had us all abuzz. Thank you Biddy, we will have no hesitation in recommending you, you’re one beautiful spiritual lady and it was a pleasure to meet you.

A must. Unique Irish experience through talented storytelling
A wonderful evening spent in Biddy’s Cottage with friends. Expect a totally immersive experience into traditional Irish storytelling, culture and Irelands infamous hospitality. From the moment you cross the ‘half door’ threshold; you are transported to a magical mystical epoch. I personally enjoyed Biddy’s passion for culinary history, which she serves up literally and metaphorically. A truly a unique experience. Highly recommend to any curious adventurers. I would love to do it again!

    An Irish Gem
Upon an early morning arrival in Ireland, we were whisked away to Biddy’s cottage. Biddy is an excellent hostess, who served us the most delicious scones and tea, while we learned about the nuances of making traditional Irish oatcakes. We enjoyed sitting next to the turf fire, hearing her Irish stories and learning about poitin, which she happily sent home a bottle with us. Biddy set the tone for our trip in Ireland. She was so kind and gentle to my children, and I felt like I could have stayed and chatted with her all day. She is a must-visit when you come to Ireland.

Like spending precious moments with a dear friend....
There are so many wonderful reasons to visit Biddy's cottage, and yet the most important one is simply to meet Biddy herself, who is such a sweet, charming and lovely person. Spending time with her felt like having spent time with a dear friend. Thank you so much Biddy for all your kindness, for being such a gracious host, for the lovely stories, for the amazing food and drinks, and especially for making us feel so welcomed and at home.

Unique Irish experience with Biddy in her seafront fisherman’s cottage. A highly recommended option to travel south on the DART to lovely seaside town of Dalkey when cruise ship is docked in DunLaoghire instead of heading north to busy Dublin

Just spent a wonderful evening here & could not recommend highly enough. Biddy is the most amazing host- her storytelling nights in her beautiful cottage literally are Dublin's best kept secret. She is so warm & welcoming, brandishing a gorgeous cocktail for us on arrival. It's no exaggeration to say that the most interesting night awaits . Biddy is a brilliant story teller and has such a charming personality, bringing a real joie de vivre to each tale she tells. Her wealth of knowledge about Irish folklore / food is incredible.. Both tourists , and native Irish ,like myself, would find her evenings such fun. Highly recommend it for everyone with a pulse - you won't be disappointed!

As locals we knew of Biddy’s’s Cottage but we didn’t realise what a gem it is. We went with friends and visitors and I was expecting a ‘tourist performance’ instead we got a genuine storyteller with great stories to tell. Fiona

Small cottage on an amazing seafront road called Coliemore Road. Opposite to the cottage is a castle style house which looks great.
