Fantastic Resource
Sep 2021
The Clare Genealogy Center, and Antoinette O'Bryen in particular....amazing! I have been working with her over the last several years; slowed obviously by the pandemic. Her work led finally to discovering where my great-great grandparents lived; it was a dream come true for me.
Antoinette's professionalism combined with her understanding of the emotional nature of the findings and the longing for information were a true gift.
I can't thank her and her team enough, nor recommend them highly enough!
I look forward to doing some more work with her to see what else we can uncover.

Time and Resources Well Spent!
Aug 2021
Add our names to the list of reviewers who appreciated the efforts of the Clare Heritage and Genealogy Centre. As a retired university professor, Don noted that the level of careful scholarship that went into the report was evident. They asked very good questions and gave guidance as to further pieces of information they needed from us so that they could proceed in the right directions. All of our questions were always answered promptly and thoroughly. We learned a lot about Don's family history going back to Lissycasey. And found a cousin to begin corresponding with! We highly recommend this service for persons who are serious about exploring their family origins. Don and Kathy Healy PS. Please note. We went the fall of 2018 but the pulldown screen did not go back that far. We posted this August 2021.

Clare Roots
Aug 2019 • Solo
Clare roots was professional and helpful in successfully finding my Irish relatives. I was also impressed with the degree of rigour that was applied in their research. Also for someone who has not gone to Clare I was well educated on the area at the time that my relatives lived there.

Clare Heritage and genealogy Centre- an underrated gem!!!
Jun 2020
Last year my sister and myself traveled to Kinvara , Galway. During this visit we came across The Clare Heritage and Genealogy Centre and in particular Antoinette O ‘Brien.
Antoinette agreed to research our family history and this week provided us with a well researched document about our family tree. We are still processing the history and documents provided. However , needless to say we are extremely grateful to Antoinette for finding lost information about my grandfathers family. She has provided a precious document which we can now share with our extended family and the next generation. This contact with the centre was one of the highlights of our holiday .

Grandmother Delia

Antoinette opened many doors to my family’s background! Imagine... we thought my grandmother, Delia Driscoll Bowden was an only child. She was actually one of ten children who lived in County Clare! So much information! Lovely surprises!

Delighted with our Cunningham Family History Report!
Apr 2019
We knew my husband's grandmother came from Corofin, Co. Clare and traveled to NYC, where she and her sister married two Cleary brothers. We didn't know much about her family in Ireland, so we took a chance and stopped in at the Clare Heritage Centre without an appointment. We felt very fortunate to meet Antoinette O'Bryen, who arranged to do some research into the Cunningham family. We just received a nicely bound report in the mail and are delighted with the contents.

The report said that my husband would be eligible to apply for Irish citizenship through his grandmother. He already did that through his grandfather, but it was useful to know. One of the highlights in the report is the name and address of a living relative in Galway who is willing to share photos! We can't wait to return to Ireland and visit her as well as the places mentioned.

Spoke to Antoinette and was incredibly helpful

I was after an official baptimal certificate from a local parish and Antoinette knew exactly what to do. It was a modest fee and the processing time appears to be short (on the order of a week or two).

Perfectly friendly. Very knowledgeable.

Clare Heritage Research Both Thorough and Enriching
Jan 2020 • Solo
In October of 2018, I visited Clare Heritage Center and had an appointment with Antoinette O’Bryen. I was interested in finding more information on my Lahiff roots from County Clare. I had done some research and basically was seeking confirmation and expansion on what I thought I already knew. She explained that they have a back log of interested clients and if I was willing to wait she would be willing to do more research. We agreed, and to be honest the waiting part was the hardest for me! I am thankful for each and every patient response Antoinette extended to my often pestering inquiries for updates or status of their research on my family. At times I worried that perhaps I would never learn more, but I was rewarded in December of 2019 with a packet containing a very thorough (more than 50 page) report. I was able to confirm much of my own research and was most happy to also receive expanded information and insights. She helped identify the locations of where my great great grandfather lived as a “herd” in the Barron. She reasoned through many documents and substantiated her conclusions and gave me all the paperwork, so I can follow up on much of it. I look forward to returning in Fall of 2020 with 8 to 10 of the Lahiff descendants. At this time the info will be shared with them and Antoinette will give our group a lecture about our family and the Famine period. She is asking a very fair compensation for doing this and we all eagerly await her informative talk. We plan to visit many of the spots she highlighted in the report and walk where grandfather John and Eliza walked.

I wish to thank Antoinette and her staff for their excellent research and give my high endorsement and recommendation of their work.

I encourage you to be patient as you await the research. It is worth the wait. I would also encourage you to ask for updates at the 3 or 4 month interval for your own peace of mind and to touch base with their team. You will be receiving a “thesis type” bound report filled with excellent insights and documentation. Consider ordering more than one copy to share with your family.

I highly recommend!

Extensive Family Documentation
Dec 2019
We just received our Family History Report from Clare Heritage and Genealogy Centre - and it did not disappoint!! Antoinette was our researcher and she put together a 35 page narrative of our family history that dates to the pre-famine period.

In addition to learning about some of direct relatives, we were also provided with land maps, cemetery plots, census and land records, copies of original birth, marriage, and death records, as well as some history about the area.

Not only did we learn about the past, but also about current descendants of our late relatives. The report has brought our Irish history to life! We are excited for our next trip back to Clare because we learned that one of the homes from the 1850s is not only still standing, but is occupied by one of our cousins - albeit a couple of times removed!

Overall a fantastic bit of research about an area that is not as well documented as some other countries.

If you have any interest in your Irish ancestors, and their lives, you must allow Antoinette and the staff at the Centre to introduce you to them!!

Striking lucky!
Jan 2019
I was fortunate to have an interview with Antoinette as the people who were booked didn't turn up. Having sent copies of material when I returned to New Zealand, it was about 12 months before the information was ready, and what was provided was well worth waiting for. It was great to find out new information about one of my great-grandfathers and his antecedents, and also helpful to know that not much information about one of my great-grandmothers -- if the team at Corofin could go only so far, there is small hope for amateur researchers like me. I'm delighted that I struck lucky by calling into the Centre on Bank Holiday last year! Many, many thanks! {Please note: my visit was on 6 August 2018 -- dates prior to January 2019 are not available below}
