I love to visit old cemeteries and could spend hours walking through them. However on the day we visited we did not get out and walk around the Old Gray Cemetery because the grass was knee high. We did drive through and enjoyed what we...More

I could spend hours here wandering around. The oldest cemetery in Knoxville. Lots of shade and a very good map of the layout.

The first time I took the bus and I was in awe of all the history here by reading all the old tombstones and looking at the ornate headstones that are NOT made anymore! The headstones were made by great artisans! I saw a fig...More

Very interesting place to visit and stroll around. Lots of old cemetery markers and statues. The downside is that it is in a homeless persons area, so I strongly recommend going only during daylight hours and only in groups.

This is a must-see for cemetery lovers and history buffs. The "roads" are narrow and you can just imagine horse and carriages coming thru here in another era. Beautiful and a great place to spend some real time to peruse the many wonderful headstones.
