This is a really nice zoo. I took my 3yr old son and he really enjoyed it. The animals are usually close enough in the exhibits for you to get a really good look at them. There are several things for smaller kids to do too. Fun trip.

Thanks for the nice review! One of our "specialties" is being extremely friendly for preschool and elementary-aged kids, and we appreciate you noticing! More

This place was nice, but not as big as expected and most of the animals weren't active or open to view. Seemed sad.

Wonderful day at the zoo. Zoo gets better every time we visit. Saw the new born gorilla. Lots of expansion going on.

My favorite is the Red Pandas, these guys are just so cute. The new lion exhibit is really nice, and I think they are working on a big Tiger exhibit. Can't wait for it open.

We took our 4 year old son to Boo at the zoo tonight for the first time and we had such a good time! There was a lot of Characters dressed up to take pictures with. My son ended up with a bag full of candy and said it was the best night ever. Would highly recommend parents to dress... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review about your experience at BOO! at the Zoo, our after-hours event designed for preschool and elementary-aged children. We appreciate the recommendation, too, because it's one of our biggest annual fundraisers for the zoo as well! We appreciate your visit. Sincerely, Tina Rolen Director of Communications More

We took advantage of free Senior day. It was a mild day early October. The zoo was decorated for the upcoming Halloween at the Zoo event. The animals were fairly active. We got to see one of the giraffes up close. The baby gorillas were fun, and playful. The elephants were busy eating, so fun to watch. The only dissapointment is... More

We're thrilled you took advantage of the free admission offered by our sponsor Gentry Griffey to spend a day at the zoo. We can't wait to tell them. And thank you for your suggestion about having more concession options for Senior Day. Sincerely, Tina Rolen Director of Communications More

I took my husband to Zoo Knoxville for the first time today. I had been before we met and enjoyed it. Today was no different. The zoo is set up very nicely. The enclosures were both animal and visitor friendly. We cannot wait to take the grandchildren because there are so many areas for them to have a good time... More

Diana, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your visit, and for the kind review! And we're so happy to hear you're excited about Tiger Forest opening in spring 2017. It really will be unlike anything we've ever built before and can't wait to see what you think of it! Sincerely, Tina Rolen Director of Communications More

One of first there so many animals weren't out. Zoo keepers were friendly and knowledgable about their animals. As we left the animals had woken up and most were active. Hard to figure out how to see it all behind construction. Maybe an updated map for a while.

Cortney, We are terribly sorry, but it appears there was a miscommunication about the construction of Tiger Forest and our animals on view. While we do not have any animals off view to the public due to the construction, we did have to temporarily close the upper pathway to allow for some utility work for a few days, and we... More

Although my wife and I both attended college in Knoxville and also have visited the city many times over the years, neither of us had EVER visited the Knoxville Zoo! We decided to do so around Labor Day Weekend 2016 and we were delighted that we did! The Zoo is situated in a beautiful area east of Downtown Knoxville which... More
