Keeping the interest of a teen and preteen isn't always easy but they were eager to see what's next and absolutely mesmerized by all the great things they seen and interacted with. So glad we all went.

We really enjoyed this museum. We were surprised to be the only one's there. It had some unique features and interesting exhibits. A nice free stop right in the middle of the University of TN. It is also close to Worlds Fair park too.

After living in Knoxville for 35 years, we finally visited this great museum on the University of Tennessee campus. We were very impressed with the variety, quality and educational benefit of the exhibits. The new exhibit on Egyptian cats was extremely interesting. You can spend a few hours in this one exhibit. Very enlightening. The exhibit on the evolution of... More

Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review! Our temporary exhibition, Divine Felines, comes down in May 2017 and then a new special exhibition will be on view, so there's always something new to see. We hope that you'll return soon! More

Have had lovely, interesting experiences here, but parking is problematic. Wish UT would move this museum to a more accessible spot. Planning at trip? Go when UT is not is session.

I enjoyed visiting for about 2-3 hours yesterday afternoon (Feb. 22, 2017). The wide variety of artifacts that included pottery, statues, amulets, two human coffins (empty I think), mummified cats (I had no idea a past civilization preserved cats that way.), Native American Indian items, fossils, rocks and minerals, skeletons, etc., impressed me. The nice selection of artifacts from Egypt,... More

This museum is on the University of Tennessee campus. If you go, don't pass the little guard house where you must stop and get a pass for your dash. It isn't that obvious, so we had to go back and get it. The museum has changing exhibits. We saw the standard Egyptian, Asian, archeological and Native American exhibits, but our... More

Hi Kay- Thanks so much for taking the time to review our museum. I'm sorry that parking was confusing. Parking on any university campus always involves technicalities, but we try and make that information obvious on our website and with signage at the entrance to the museum. Just out of curiosity--why the 3 star review (which impacts our rating negatively)... More

This is a wonderful educational/entertainment (edutainment) venue for all ages. This seemingly small museum situated on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus is packed with top quality exhibits on diverse subjects. Some exhibits are permanent, while others are replaced from time to time. Additionally, informative lectures are given at various times on a variety of subjects, all by experts in... More

A variety of historical displays throughout. The Native American section is particularly informative and includes many fascinating artifacts.

Located on UT campus, this museum is a great place for education. The atrium has a small gift shop, access to the lower level exhibitions, and the entrance to the upper level exhibitions. They present history on the Cherokee peoples and they have interactive material for children and interesting artifacts on display. They have videos and just enough text to... More
