The statue is worth the visit. If you seek to add a photo to your " Great African Americans" collection. Park is very small, but clean.

After a morning of being downtown I decided to have lunch....picked up some lunch and went to Haley Heritage Square. It consists of actually a park, disc golf and bike trails! It was peaceful and quiet and not actually a bad place! I enjoyed the scenery,birds and the planes flying over from Island Home Airport; most of the time.... If... More

There wasn't much to see or do, so we just drove past and went to another park. I don't think there was a lot of parking either. It looked more like a park for those that live in the area to walk to than a park for visitors.

If you must visit here, run in, look at the statue and run out and drive away before you get mugged. Very bad area. i would skip this one if I were you.

Albeit this is a small park, yet it encompasses much beauty and inspiration. The statue of Alex Haley is a little formidable in size, but is beautiful. Haley Heritage Square is a small park like area dedicated to Alex Haley. The 'park' is very small but the statue is large and it only takes a few minutes to read the inscription on the plaque. Park was just a pocket park so time allotted to go see the park was too long; takes about 10 minutes to see statue and read inscription.

My children and I just happened to drive by and find this gem of a park! The playground is suitable for young children especially in spring when it is not too hot. There are walking paths, people jogging, biking, and the view is beautiful!

There is not much else to this area except for a very nice park area with a playground and the Alex Haley statue. The statue is impressive and has a great amount of detail. It is definitely worth the drive to snap a couple of pictures forthe scrapbook.
