In all fairness we visited here during the off-season. Most of the exhibits were padlocked and inaccessible. Still it was nice to walk around, read the markers and enjoy the atmosphere.

History including salt transport on the river by King James, the Old Stage Road, and famous guests set this historic site apart. Reassembled cabin once lived in by Daniel Boone was neat. Worth visiting for a guided tour.

The tour guide was very informative and I learned a lot that I didn't know before. It is a beautiful site with a very rich history. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Kingsport or the surrounding area.

Netherland Inn is interesting if you have never been before (if you are from the area/near the area). Not sure I would pay a great deal - but during FunFest you can go for free.
