I love this place everyone is so nice, very clean. Great rangers and staff. We really enjoyed the hiking trails and the Fort is well maintained. We hope to return very soon!!!

Fort Pillow is rather remote, follow the signs carefully. There's a visitor center with a film that is quite pro-Southern and exhibits that gloss over the massacre of black soldiers perpetuated when Nathan Bedford Forest captured the place. The museum was overrun with panhandling scouts...More

A bit off the beaten track but worth a visit. The flow in the museaum is bad so you have to fight people to see displays if it is busy. Catch a reenactment if you can. Has camping and hiking and small gift shop. Good...More

If you want to understand what happened at Fort Pillow you walk the land. Once you see redoubt you'll under why casualties were so one sided.

This park has some of the best marked hiking trails we've seen. There are even markers along the way to let you know how far you've been. Quite beautiful too.
