Jean was an excellent tour guide and brought a whole different story to the table. I was actually in tears from some of the things she told us. So, sincere and personal. Just like we were actually there, watching it all. Plan on getting our women's group at church to go there for our next group outing.

Has been a long time since I had visited. The house is full of historic treasures that make the Battle of Franklin come alive. Thomas Cartwright is a master is creating a visual and visceral experience -- no holds barred. Great for kids and adults. Not to be missed.

We went through this home as part of a tour. It was amazing the amount of artifacts that were presented. The guide was very informative and welcoming. Will go back next year with another group.

My family & I visited my sister who lives locally and we were just tooling around looking for whatever we would stumble across regarding the civil war and just happened to stop here. AWESOME! We were a party of five on the tour of the Lotz House. Our tour guide, Robert Blythe, was awesome. He had a wealth of knowledge about the subject of the battle and local area. My elderly mom was with us and he provided a folding chair in each room for her to sit. He reviewed the history of the... More

We went to the Lotz House with my mother-in-law, and we had a great time! The house and the Lotz family history were both very interesting, and the woodwork was incredible! It is a little less expensive than the other Franklin sights, and I would say that the value is higher. But Tom, our guide, really made our visit special!... More

Beautiful wood work by a master craftsman. The family's history is a tale of the troubles inflicted on folk living in the aftermath of a major battle during the civil war.

Great place to visit when in Franklin. Our tour guide Thomas was very knowledgeable and gave an unbiased talk about the Battle of Franklin and how the family who lived in this home were affected by it.

Visit this lovely house and learn the story of an immigrant family striving to live the American dream when war comes literally barging into their home. As the story unfolds in each room you visit, you will see some of the most magnificently crafted furniture of its time. Some of it was carved by the owner Mr. Lotz himself. If... More
