The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8 million to again enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more.

I have seen numerous shows here and there is nothing to say bad about The Franklin Theatre. First, there is plenty of free parking. Beet and wine sells for half of the cost at The Ryman or other nearby venues. The acoustics are great and the seats are comfortable. Only seating 350, there are no bad seats, but the cabaret... The venue is intimate and the sound system is excellent. Unlike many small venues, the seats aren't jammed so tight that your knees cannot fit when you are 6'2". However, the seats are tightly placed side to side so keep that in mind. Some events have tables up front that provide more flexibility. The concessions are reasonably priced for the... More

Thanks so much for the wonderful review...it means so much to us! Sorry some of our seats weren't ample width for you and let us recommend the balcony seats (high back stadium seats with about an inch wider seat which have a wonderful view of the stage). Hope you'll get to be with us again soon! More

There isn't a bad seat in the house and the acoustics were great. The floor is sloped like the old theaters. The only problem is when someone spills a drink, it rolls down and gets everything wet that is sitting on the floor. The staff was very nice and accommodating. There is a concession stand with a few snacks, so... More

Thanks so much for your kind review and we're so sorry if a drink was spilled that took anything away from the experience. (We don't expect patrons to sit on the floor, of course, and work to keep the venue very clean). Hope you'll be back again soon! More

We've gone for movies and for fundraiser events. The renovations are wonderful and it's like stepping back in time. A fun plus is having a beer or a glass of wine with the performance. All of the seats are comfortable and the sound system is great.

Once you walk into the Theatre you'll see what great things they've done. It was restored about 5 years back. I've listened to Music and watched movies there. From what I was told they spent big bucks on a great sound system to listen to Music as well a separate sound system for Movies. It has a cool balcony and... More

Nice place.....very retro, great job with the restoration. The air conditioning certainly works! I don't mind supporting the historic foundation.....what I do mind is the sneaky $1 per ticket, undisclosed up charge. It's not on the website or posted at the box office. Just left a negative vibe on the visit.

Thanks so much for the kind words. Apologies that you were surprised by any "upcharge" for tickets. It is disclosed on our website (under "General Info") and when purchasing tickets online it's made known before check out and should be shared by staff if purchasing at the box office. Hope you'll get to visit again soon! More

Went to see a local movie and it was great! It has an old movie atmosphere and still felt modern enough. Great place to go to in downtown Franklin.

I had never been to this restored historic movie house with a full bar & concessions; so when I saw that Suzy Bogguss was scheduled to do a Valentine Concert there on Saturday February 11th, 2017 at 8:00 PM I decided to see if I could get tickets. The main reason I wanted to see Suzy in concert was that... More
