Took our grandsons (12 and 16 from NYC). Visiting Winstead Hill before taking the walking tour helped them see the field that was marched and fought before getting to the Carter House and the Cotton Gin. Lovely place to walk the dog ON LEASH.

No trip to Franklin would be complete without a visit to this park. read the signs and learn about how the Generals made the fatal errors that lost the battle for the south.

This place is being worked on and added to so it is always a good place to go first when doing the Battle of Franklin. The information monuments and exhibits certainly help your tour of this area of Civil War history.

Worth a short drive to overlook the town. Only a few minutes but gives you an idea of what the battle was like.. Try it and you will like it
