Nice old bridge, we were told a new bridge will be constructed in the near future. We traveled to Douglas Lake in December, so the lake was drained at that time.

We saw this on the way to Dandrige, TN....BEAUTIFUL! THe dam, itself, is worth the drive and has park benches to sit, rest, and/or meditate.

We drove to the dam and had a picnic lunch and watched the wildlife. There were great blue herons, osprey, brown and white water birds. We had the best time watching them catch fish from the overflow gate. If you like birds this is the spot.

This was a place we stopped at while staying out at anchor Downs RV resort. It was very peaceful. There is a camping site there. It was small but peaceful. I would go back.

Looking for a spot to look at the foliage we drove up to the top of the viewing area for the dam. Absolutely beautiful with the mountains in the background and the beautiful lake down below. One of the prettier places we have been. Loved it up there

This can be a beautiful lake with great vistas. Not in the fall. The TVA drains almost all the water out of the lake. They say it is not a recreational lake. You can still get on it though. Historical downtown Dandridge is really sad needs help. You can tell the economy is hurting. Would love too see it blossom.... More

When I asked one of the locals about the best places to go for viewing the mountains, he immediately said "The Douglas Lake Dam". And wow, was it impressive. The water, the rocks, the trees, and the mountains were breathtaking. It was incredible. As a heads up, the water was lowered, which probably made the view less impressive than in... More
