I just love to be away, at least feel like I have. I can spend an hour at Audubon acres and feel refreshed or less stressed. It's beautiful and they have great programs for the kids in summer and fall. The people that volunteer are so helpful and sweet. Take a sandwich and a book go watch the birds or... More

This is an island only accessible through the scouts as per the guy on the Duck Ride. he motored around it and said it was closed except for those scouts they allow there at certain times of the year.

We visited the Audubon Acres for do some birding. We walked about a third of the trails and saw quite a few birds. The scenery is beautiful and it is so peacful. We spent about 3 hours there but had to leave due to rain. The young man at the visitor center was very helpful.

Our timing on this area might not have been the best for looking for birds as it was late October. However, there are nice walks around and the leaves were changing so it was picturesque. The swinging bridge is a must see in the area. We were informed to be aware of poison oak and ivy, a good thing as... More

Visited The Acres of Darkness on Oct 2016, it's a haunted trail in Audubon Acres. The price was $15. The line for the trail was long, waited for over an hour. They had activities for children (face & pumpkin painting) and food (hot dogs & a few drink choices). The trail was about half a mile, but it didn't feel... More

Tranquil, peaceful and beautiful. Walk across the gentle swinging bridge. Great for family time. Put those phones down and really live! Enjoy the outside.

We decided to drive here on a recent visit, but we did not end up staying due to the first impression we received and the $6 a piece entrance fee. When we considered the free nature areas around town, it just did not seem like it could be worth it. Although I am sure the fee is necessary for the... More

I do want to warn visitors that there are some trails that border on residential areas where inconsiderate neighbors will blast really loud music/rev motorcycle engines, which kind of ruins the serene "one with nature" vibe the place strives for. I was disappointed by this when I visited for the first time last month. Other than that, I really like... More

Beautiful area in the East Brainerd area of Chattanooga. Many trails/paths to walk. Not too technical, but not for strollers or people that have difficulty on natural trails.
