Not really much here after Ruby Falls, but worth checking out, since we were there for the Falls. A better view from Rock City, which we went to after this. We saw, we conquered and no longer wonder why all the signs are posted on the interstate! Good for a one time visit, but will probably go back when our... More

I had to cajole my traveling compadres to make a stop at Lookout Mountain -- they were pretty skeptical and assumed it would be a bit of a tourist trap. The tourist trappings are certainly available if you want them, but in this case we didn't feel like the commercialization detracted much from the beauty of the site. Given the... More

Gosh! There are just so many wonderful things that I could say about our visit to Rock City and Lookout Mountain. The experience is a beautiful and whimsical stroll (a easy hike--you can take your time) through a series of varying sceneries and designed settings until you reach beautiful Lookout Mountain. Here you can also have a bite to eat... More

this is a unique community with quintessential places to stop and hike, picnic, meet the locals. A neat little church is found up there - visit if you are there on a Sunday. 901 Scenic Hwy. Oh - the cafe across the street -yummy! Clumpies ice cream up on the mountain or at the foot of it -kinda like Mayberry!

We've been to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge many many times and our most recent visit there was very disappointing. It has become way over commercialized so we opted for a 3 day weekend in Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. We are so glad we did. This is THE new destination for our family. The history here is pretty incredible when you understand just... More

Great way to see the surrounding area from top of Mountain. Enjoyed both day hike and Enchanted Lights at night. Definitely would recommend especially those who like taking pictures.

We were driving to Nashville for Thanksgiving and we took a side trip in Chattanooga. I cautiously drove up the winding narrow roads to the top of Lookout Mountain, occasionally daring to glance over the side. I had to keep the car moving & follow the signs to the top. We pulled over to get a short glimpse. It was... More

It would be better for groups with small children . It gets a bit repetative. Also they let you in a 5:30 but you can't really go to anything until 6. Wouldn't have waited in line if that was more clear.

We drove up the mountain not knowing exactly what to expect. We went to Rock City and drove around the lovely community. It is so close to downtown and yet it has such a different feel A great afternoon for us.
