My husband and I were out for a drive - looking at the fall leaves. He noticed the signs to the winery, and we stopped on a whim. I'm not typically a wine drinker and neither is my husband. Needless to say, wine tastings are not frequented events for us. However, we had such a great experience at the Watauga... More

I had heard of the Watauga Lake Winery but had never been. I saw on FB they were having a Grape Stomping event and decided to check it out. AND I was glad I did. The Sunday afternoon drive was nice and I got to see parts of the lake I had not seen before. There are some beautiful homes... More

Thank you so very much for taking part in our annual "Grape Stomp"! I hope next year you will put on your best "Lucy" look and win our contest! We do hope that you will come back and visit us this fall - the drive around the lake and up at the vineyard is breathtaking when the leaves change. We... More

Delicious wines and I loved that the wine tasting and glass were only 5 $ - great affordable fun. Only downside- this was my first visit to a winery and I was really hoping for a tour or something more than just a tasting that I can get at my local wine bar.

Thank you so much for your visit. I am so sorry that we were not able to have a tour for you of our production area and our vineyard. Our winemaker and owner, Wayne Gay, had hip replacement surgery and he has not been able to walk around until he is cleared by his surgeon. That should be next week.... More

Have been to this winery on multiple occasions and have never been let down. Wayne and Linda are incredible hosts and I love their dry wines. Picked up an incredible Port on this visit. One to drink and one to save. Also bought two different dry reds and two different dry whites. If you get a chance, you need to... More

My family and I went here towards the end of our trip because it seemed interesting. We weren't sure how it was going to be, but it was wonderful! They were so nice. And the best part...the wine! I'm not a big wine drinker, but their wine was awesome. The wine tasting was only $5! You were able to keep... More

Visited this winery today with another couple and had a great time. Wayne was the ultimate host for our tasting and he took the extra time to show us around and teach us about the wine making process. Take the time to visit if you can!

Todd was great at showing us around and educating us! The tasting part we as super too! More education about the wines/grapes/process! We came away with three bottles and had to stop picking!!! It was quite the drive. But the scenery is beautiful and we felt it was worth it!

My girlfriend and I went on a weekday 15 minutes before closing because we just drove by and saw it. The staff greeted us with a smile and didn't mind staying a bit late to give us the full experience. We ended up buying 2 bottles. It was an excellent experience, we'll definitely be back.
