This is for sure a lovely drive, but nothing as spectacular as some people like to say. The reality is, most of this area and over toward Custer State Park are just as beautiful to drive.

The drive through Spearfish Canyon is beautiful and one of the best places to visit in the Black Hills. It takes about 30 minutes to travel the entire length at a moderate speed. You are deep in the canyon the entire drive.

The drive up the canyon is wonderful. Many scenic pull outs and side trails make the trip memorable. For geocachers there are multiple opportunities for the find. This is also a perfect route for those riding motorcycles. It was a great experience.

The canyon is beautiful anytime of year, although the best would be the seasonal changes. The best lighting occurs in the morning or later afternoon/early evening. There are places to stop and walk, and places to take interesting photos. You can drive straight through or...More

Absolutely! Because this is a popular area for tourists, the roads are wide enough to accommodate a large size RV, even on the curves.
